Meeting of February 15, 1951
Th~ Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
KlipD at Greenport, on Tues., Feb. 13, 1951. The m~eting was
called to order at 1:50 P.E.w~hthe following present:
S~oervisor ¥tipp~ Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson a~d Clark;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.
Edwin E. King appeared before the Board requesting the Board to
take over a proposed highway whick will run through his property
at Orient.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconde~ by Justice Clark:
Resolved: That when 50 feet in width of the proposed road is
constructed the Board will view same and if it is to the satisfaction
cf the Town Board, the Board will consider taking it over as a
public high~ay.
Unanimously adopted.
~he Board sa~ as a committee on audit to examine claims against the
Town, concluding the audit word at 2:~0 PLN. '-
The minutes of the previeus meeting were read and were duly
approved as read.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by justice Clark:
Resolved: That the monthly audit meeting of this Board will be held
at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on T~es,, ~rch 6,
1951, at 1:50 P.~.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson:
Whereas, Archie ~. Symonds has submitted his resignation as
Southold Town Welfare Officer, to be effective ~arch l, 1951,
and said resignation having been accepted with re~ret, an8
Whereas, it is the considered opinion of the Town Board of the ~
Town of Southold that it is in the best interests of the Town
that Norman E. Klipp be appointed $outhold Town ~elfare Officer
effective as of March l, 1951,
New Therefore Be It Resolved: That Norman E. Elipp be and he hereby
is appointed Southold Town ~elfare Officer to serve at the pleasure
of the Board without compensation, said appointment being effective
as of ~rch l, 1951.
Be It Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file
such certificate with proper parties as is required by Section 30,
Subdivision 3, of the Town Law.

Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Cl~rk:
Resolved: That Supervisor Norman E, Klipp be and~hereby is authorized
to transfer the sum of Thirty-two Hundred Dollars ($3,200.00) from the
Surplus Fund to the General Fund to cover the increase in salaries
effective by Resolution duly adopted on January 25, 1951.

Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolvedvt~That inasmuch as the required dedications have been duly
received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers filed, the
Town Board take ov~r and maintain as public highways, "West Drive~,
"Lake Drive-, and "Lake Court", at Southold.

Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Cl~rk:
Resolved: That General Bills in th~ sum of $4656.67, District Bills
in the sum of $5216.~6, Non-reimbursable Welfare Bills in the sum of
$5348.90, ~zshe~s Island Ferry District Bills account #I in the sum
of $4461.38, Fishers Island Ferry District Bills account #2 in the
sum of $6?44.08, ~e and the same are hereby ordered paid.

Resolved:~ That the Police Report for the month of January
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
