Raymond Terry and Frederick Leicht appeared before t~e Board requestin~
the Beard to take over a proposed highw~ which r~ns through the prop-
erty of~.Raymond Terry .and, Christopher Leicht only.
The Board stated ths. t it would be necessary for them to build a thirty
foot ~oa'd in Width. When completed the Board will vie~ same and if
satisfactory will consider taking it over as a publid highway.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved
as read.
At 2 O'clock P'.M. in accordance with a notice published acicordling to law
bids were opened for proposals to furnish the Town of Southold two
2-door sedan standard model automobiles for use as police cars.

Whereas, the lowest bid was submitted by the Greenport Auto Sales~ ---

directed to enter into a contract with the Greenport Auto Sales for the
p~rch~se of two 2-door overdrive sedans at a total price of
~elive~ to.be made within ni~ety days.

held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on TueSday, February

Claims, against the Town were audited by the Board.

Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $696.88, be and the same
are-~hereby ordered paid.

Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to reques~ the
Long Island Lighting Company to remove the aerial street light
Pole #16 and place it on Pole ~5~ on West Creek Avenue~ i~ the Cutchogue
Lighting District.

The bond of Radford C. Shanklin was presented to-the Board for approval.
Moved by Justice Terry~ seconded by Justice Clark:
Resolved: That Bond No. 05-510-020 issued by the American Surety Company
in the sum of $~O00. on behalf of Radford C. Shanklin be and the same
is hereby approved as to its form~ sum~ manner of execution and
sufficiency of surety therein.

Resolved: That J. Benedict Roache of New Suffolk be and hereby is
appointed Special ~onstable to serve withOUt pay and at the pleasure
of the Board.

NOTed by Justice Atbertson; seconded by Justice Terry:
Whereas~ the Education Law places upon the Town Board the duty of pro-
vidin§ and maintaining fireproof rooms~ vaults or receptables for the
sage keeping of public records~ and
Whereas~ the Town Law provides that the Town Board may purchase real
estate~for any Town purpose-~ and establish a Town Hall~ and
WhereaS~ it is the considered~opinion of the members of the Town Board
of the Town of Southold that the acquisition of a building for the
housing of Town records is in the bast interests of the Town, and
Wher~it has been determined th~'~premise~ now owned by the Presby-
terian Church of Southold 6n the northerly side of Main Road~ at
Southold ~ay-bepurGh~a~ed by the Town for $10~000. and the adjacent
presises owned by the ~t~'Patricks R.C. Church of Southold May be
purchased by the Town for $5~000.~
Now Therefore ~Be It ~esolved:J That the Supervisor of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is authorized to enter into negotiations for
the purchase of said premises~ to enter into contracts for the purchase
of same and to' pay over 10% of the purchase price upon the signing of the
c~nt~'a~cts, to arr~ange for examination of the title and to consummate
the purchase of s~id premises~ moneys for same to be taken from the
tuuexp~ded balances pursuant-to the T0wn~ Law and the Local Fiannce Law.
