The meeting was called to order at I:30~P.M. with ~he followiug present: ~upervisor Klipp;~Justices Terry~ £~thill and ~lbertson; S~perintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry andTown Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on a~dit to examine claims against the Town~ ~oncluding the audit work at 2 P.M. The minutes of the previous'meeting were r~ad and were d~ly approved as read. Moved by Justice Atbertson; seconded by Justice ~erry: Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, January 30~1951 at 1:30 P.M. ~nanimously ~opted. Moved by Justice AlberSson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to contribute the sum of $300.to the Greenport Rotary Club to defray the expense of advertising Southol~ Town in Booklets to be distributed at the National Sportsman Show~ which is to be held in New York City in February, 1951. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That the Suffolk County Givil Service Commission be requested to change the classification of the Town Welfare Officer from a com- petitive class to a non-competitive class because of the fact that the position of the Town Welfare Officer is part time only. B~ It Further Resolved: That the Supervisor be imtructed to notify the Civil Service Commission of this resolution. Unanimously adopted. Klipp be designated to represent the Town of Southold at the a~m~al meeting of the Association of Towns of the State of New ¥ork, to be held at Buffalo~ N.Y. on February 6~ 7 and 8, 19~l~ and th cast the vote of said Town of Southold and that J~ustice Harry H. Terry be designated as alternate to cast the vote of said Town in the adsence of Supervisor Klipp. Unanimously adopted. Noved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That all officials of the Town of Southold that attend the at, ual meeting of the Association of Towns of the State of New York~ to be held at ~ffalo~ N.Y. on February 6~?~ and 8~ 1951, shall be reimbursed for their expense money attending this meeting. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S. Wilcox in the operation of the Vessel M.V. Mystic Isle in the sum of $3~9~2.92~ from Dec. 1, 1950 to Dec. 31~ 1950~ both dates inclusive. Unanimously adopted. Terry be and hereby is designated to hold the office of Chairman of the Town Board of Assessors until the first dayof January next succeeding such designation all in accord- ance with 22 B-of the Town Law, and be it further RESOLVED~ ~that the compensation for su~ch appointment be fixed at $~OO per year, payable in regular monthly payments. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson~ WHEREAS~ Section 62 of the Town Law requires that every Town Board shall meet on or after the 28th day of December, but not later than the 31st day of December~ in each year, and WHEREAS~ there is no other time specified by law when meetings of the Town Board of a Second Class Town shauld be held~ now therefore be it RESOLVED~ that the Supervisor be and hereby is empowered to call all m~etings of the Town Board as may be required for the best interest of the Town~ and be it further RESOLVED~ that each member of the Town Boar~ ~e given at least 2 days notice in advance of such meeting, notice~to contain the time and place where such meeting is to be held. Within sixty (60) days after the close of the fiscal year the Treasurer of each Fire District shall file in the office .of the Town Clerk and the ~te Comptroller a financial statement setting forth in detail the receipts and expenditures of the Fire District for the previous fiscal year. (Section 181 of the Town Law.) 326 On or before the lSth day of January in each year the Commissioners of each~Improvement District shall file with the Town Clerk a financial report for the presiding fiscal year. (Section 215~ Subdivision 9~ To~n Law). The Town-'Clerk should advise the Town Board as to existing contracts~ for lighting~ garbage collection~ ~fire protection~ water supply, and also leases of any property rented by the Town~ and specify the date of expiration of such contracts. (Section6~, SubdiviSion 2 and i9~ Section 183, 18~ and 198, Subdivision 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the To~n Law). The Town Clerk should supply to the Executive Secretary of the Association of Towns at the Hotel Ten Eyck, Albany, New York, a correct list of the names and addresses of all Town Officers an6 the Supervisor should advise the ~embers tha't hey the Town Clerk, j~stices of the Peace~ Superintendent .of Highways, A~se~sors, NeIfare 0~fice~, and the Town AttorneY will receive.copies of meetings~ letins issued by the Town and Covaxty Officers Training School on sub- jects of interest and importance to various officers.
