The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S.
Wentworth Horton at Oreenport, on ~Xonday, February '18, 1946. The
meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following
present: Supervisor Horton; Justices Terry, Hawkins and Case;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town At~or~e.y Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as
read.
The bond for Justice of the Peace Radford C. shanklin for $1,000.
was presented to the BOard.
Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Case-
RESOLVED: That the Town Board approve the bond of Justice Radford
G. Shsw~li~ W~itSen by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty
Co, as to its for~, manner of execution an~ sufficiency of
society.
Unan~moum, ly adopted.
Matters of interest to the town were discussed at considerable
length.

February 19, 1946
Call of nesting was read by Town C~lerk, R.P. Booth.
Dr. Paul Diefenbacher was elected chairman of meeting.
Dr. S.B. Fisher was umsnimo-msly elected member of Park Commission
for a term of three years,
An appropriation of $25.00~for the maintenance of the Park Dis-
trict properties was yoted. Total votes cast 7 yes.
A Suggestion that the co,v~ission bar the nsc of !ieluor at the wharf
premises was made by Dr. Diefenbacher.
The matter of acquiring the use of the M.T. Smith Estate property
either by contract o~ purchase was brought up f~r~diseussion.
