The So~thold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S. Went~th
Herren, at Greenport on Wednesday, February 6, 1946, The meeting
was called to order at 1:50 P.M. with the following present:
S~o~rvisor Herren; ~ustices Terry, Hawk~us, Etipp and Case; Town
Attorney Terry and TOwn Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a ~o,~mittee on Audit to exsmine claims
against the To~m, ~oncluding the audit at 2
The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and duly ~ap-
proved as read.
~oved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the a~ount of #3~857otB, Rein~b~r-
sable Welfare Bi'lis in the amount ~ $~, No~-reimbursable ~et-
fare Bills in the amount of $27.47 be and the ss~e are hereby
ordered paid.

The following Re:solution was offered by Jnstice Gase, seconded by
Justice Klipp, and was u~m~imously adopted.
~REAS, ~ in His Providence has taken from us the presence of
Stewart W. Herren; and
WHEtE~, Stewart W. Horton served the Town of Southold as Town
Trustee faithfully ~d efficiently for a period of years.
Therefore Be it Rose. ired: That the Southold Town Board deeply
mourns the loss of' this~ friend and To~n Official and extends its
profound sympathy to his bereaved family~
Be It t~arther Resolved: That the Town clerk be and he is hereby
directed to spread this Resolution upon the minutes of this
m~eting, and he is further directed to send a copy thereof to the
members of the vereaved family.

Resolved: That Theresa Lindsay be and hereby is appointed part
time Junior Clerk in the Supervisor's office at a salary of $12.
per week retroac'tive as of January l, 1946.

Resolved: That the Town Suoerintendent of H,ghwa~s is hereby
authorized to purchase unde~ Section 142 of %he H~ ghway Law
from Good Roads Machinery Ce. of New YS~rk Inc. wi%h t~e ap--
proval of the County Superintendent of Highwa$~, one rebuilt
Galioa ~del 10t Diesel ~otor Grader for ato~tal price of
~5 ,SSO. 00.

Be It Resolved: That pursuant to section 14Z of the Highway Law,
the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorized to sell to
5~ir ahd Arnold of East ~rion, N.Y., with the approval, of the
County Superintendent of Highways :, one second hand clectrac Tractor
and Bulldozer for the sum of $1,20G.00.

Moved by, Justice Terry, seconded by Justice Klipp;
Resolved: That the Supervisor be authorized to make arrangements
with Vandewater, Sykes and Hocker, Esqs. for drafting an act of
the legislature to legalize the i~45 TOwn Election with reference to
construction and mafntenamce of a gargabe incinera$~ as adopted
by the electors, and also to provide for the establishment of
a gargabe district without petition. 'They are to be paid not to
exceed $50. for their services in that matter.
It Was Further Resolved: That the Supe~¢~ be authorized to retain
the same firm at a cost not to exceed $000,, for their services
in connection with a bond issue go pay for the cost of said
construation and maintenance, and to certify to the validity of
said bonds.
