Marty Flatley, Victor L'eplattenier, Jamie Richter, Bruno Semon, Supt. of Highways Pete Harris Update and Review lly Bruno Semon: North Fork Deli (Bremers Deli) Mattituck - Parking will be on site in the back and on side roads. The only issue remaining is with the Health Department regarding the well. Landscaping to meet the standard of the Architectural Review Committee is required because of the Town's Scenic Byway designation. It was also suggested that there be "No littering" signs posted. The matter of gas tanks buried on site has not been resolved. Neb will send a note to the Planning Board that we approve with the above caveats. RMB Medical Boildlog, Soothold - The site plan haS been approved. SEEDS Update: Informational meetings have been held in all five towns. There will be a meeting of all Town Boards. This will be thought of as a regional project, not a town-by-town endeavor. Orient Causeway Proiect: A legal notice see~ng bidders has been published. The Town is asking for "consulting services of a professional design engineer or firm to assist in the planning, design and development of a project that would underground all ovemead utilities lines as well as develop kayak and bicycle access along the two miles. ..of the Orient/East Marion Causeway." The deadline for formal proposals is June 16,2005. A timeline has also been proposed with a start date of June 2, 2005 (publication of classified ad) through March 31, 2006 (authorization of Phase II construction). Neb received a letter from Albany asking for a work plan. Neb and Jamie will work on this. The funding to start will be: $120,000 from the State (a Federal Grant) 30,000 cash from the Town 20,000 in-kind services (Jamie's regular salary plus Neb's value as a volunteer at $25-$20 per hour) Traffic Study - Route 48 and Cox Neck I "ne in Mattituck: Neb wrote a letter to Supervisor Horton about Tom Wickham's and the Mattituck Stakeholders' proposal to make the four lane road into two lanes from Cox Neck Lane to Wickham Avenue. He is still waiting for a reply. Scenic Byways Si I:nl\ie: This item was held for the next meeting. Drainl\ie Proiect. Main Rnatl Cutchol:Ue: The work is continuing. Traffic Calmin~ Island. Cutcho~ue: It is desired that the "island" be 2 inches high. Neb will ask Supervisor Horton to ask Pat Acampora's office to have the island restored to the repaving plan. StQp Sil:U at Elijah's Lane: The Stop Sign that was placed on Elijah's Lane and Gabriella Court, at the request of some local residents, has been removed for safety reasons. Five Towns Rural Transit C'-Ommittee: Margaret was asked if 5TRC had come to any conclusions about placement of bus shelters, but the committee has not reached that specificity of detail at this point. Old Business: Tom Ingald of North Fork Trolley made a presentation to the Town Board May 3 I suggesting that his service could take Cross Sound Ferry passengers from a points in Riverhead to the ferry in Orient. He has also approached Cross Sound and the Town of RiveJbead with his ideas. The concept is still under consideration. The new bus service provided by North Fork Express was briefly discussed. Work on the new bridge over the URR in Greenport is expected to begin in September 2006. The next meeting will be Monday, July 18,2005, at lOAM, Southold Town Hall.
