SEEDS lTptI~tP: The East End Supervisors and Mayors bave been urged to plan to continue SEEDS work after the government funding ends. During April 5 and 12 there will be a series of public meetings throughout the towns and villages to provide an opportunity for everyone to review the data and scenarios. There will be two meetings in each town - one at 3:30PM and one at 7:30PM. Feedback from these meetings will be incorporated in the next set of SEEDS recommendations. Adoption of recommendations, final solutions and intermunicipal agreements will be created at a "Constitutional Convention" to be held in June. SCP.Dic Bywl\Ys 1000ent C'~lIseWl\Y Proiect: Neb has put together a delineation of project responsibilities for the Orient Causeway Project. These include responsibilities for: Project Manager, Transportation Commission, Project Coordinator, and the Main Contract. Jamie Richter has been appointed the Town's Project Manager by the Town Board. In this capacity, he has written to Alexander R. Nyilas, Senior Account Executive of UPA, requesting information that may be pertinent to the project. Jamie will keep the Commission informed as he proceeds with the project. Tom Wickbam suggested that the Commission take the initiative in recruiting and selecting the Project Coordinator. He suggested placing advertisements in newspapers, professional journals, and on the Town website. He said the ads should be reviewed by the Town Board before publication. It is hoped that if the search proceeds expeditiously, the Project Coordinator could be in place and ready to begin work on the RFP by March 1, 2005. Five Towns Rural Transit Committee: Margaret reported that the Town of Southampton has formed a Transportation Commission modeled on our Commission. Tom Neely, formerly of Hampton Jitney, has been appointed Executive Director of the new Commission. Tom Wickham suggested that the Five Towns Rural Transit Committee make a presentation of its goals and progress to the Southold Town Board. New Bu..iness: Tom Wickham reported that Hamlet Planning exercises bave been taking place in eight hamlets to study the concept of hamlet density "haloes" while leaving the outer parts of the hamlets and between hamlets with more open space. There would be one designated parking facility in each hamlet. Each group will present their findings to the Town Board beginning in February. Supervisor Horton stopped in to discuss the project further. Old Business: Neb sent a memo to Jerilyn Woodhouse, Chairperson of the Planning Board, regarding the Stanley Malon Commercial Center plan in Cutchogue. He stated that the Commission concurs with the Planning Board's decision that the Center should have separate entrance and exit lanes.
