December 18, 2006 Meeting

Members Present: Chairman Neb Brashich, Councilman Tom Wickham, Jamie
Richter, Peter Harris, Ruth Oliver, Frank Fields, undersigned. Excused-
Margaret Brown and Tom Fox.
Chairman Brashich advised the committee that Michelle Zaloom had
resigned and that her position would be filled in the near future.
SEEDS Update
> Neb reported that they are still waiting for all Towns and Villages to
sign off on the Memorandum of Understanding and that Easthampton
Town has not done so as of yet. He anticipates that it will be completed
by the end of January, 2007.
> Neb reported that Southampton Town received a grant to purchase
water taxis to operate throughout their area and hopes that they
would eventually be able to extend their service to help relieve South
Fork traffic.
Orient Causeway Project Update:
> Jamie advises that Bill Schempf will be meeting with the NYS DEC
on-site on January 9, 2007 in an attempt to resolve the remaining
issues regarding the placement of utility lines on the causeway.
Town Orientation! Interpretive Signage Project Update:
> Neb reports that the project is actively making its way through Alan
Hevesi's Office in NYS.
County Rt. 48 Roundabouts (2) Project Update:
> Neb reports that there is positive movement on the project and that a
study is currently being completed for the project.
Bus Shelters Project Update:
> Jamie reports that the work on the shelters is currently out to bid and
that Greenport Village officials have contacted him and expressed an
interest in taking part in the second phase of shelter construction at
their site on First and Adams Streets, Greenport.
Management Plan- Long Island North Shore Heritage Area:
J;> Neb reports that the Town has signed the agreement and that the
monies should be forthcoming.
Five Towns Rural Transit Update:
J;> Neb reports that Margaret left a package with him for the meeting
containing pamphlets and paperwork on the proposed North Fork
Shuttle Service (light rail and bus). Neb recited the reasons for
supporting the service as proposed by the FTRTC and also advised
that the committee has already presented the plan before the Mayors
and Supervisors Committee.

J;> None.
New Business:
J;> Rich MacMurray from Cross Sound Ferry inquired if the commission
has heard anything regarding the Town-funded traffic study. Neb
reports that he has not been advised of its progress.
Adjournment:
J;> Meeting adjourned at 1055 hrs.
** Councilman Wickham arrived after the meeting was adjourned, but did
offer that the Town Attorney has a copy of the rough draft of the traffic
study and that they are scheduling a meeting with Board members for a
review of same.
