Havrilla, R.A., A.I.A., NCARB Associate The original existing structure was inspected by me in the middle of the year 2000. I notified the owners that the structure then existing was sub-standard in that much of the framing was undersized, there was no insulation, and various improper materials (i.e. Celotex fiber board; in lieu of gypsum wall board) had been used during the original construction. The owners commenced interior renovation work and during this work the structure was damaged by a falling tree requiring replacement of much of the roof structure. At that time, the owners undertook a complete renovation of the structure as shown on the enclosed plans. I have inspected the construction since its completion and it appears that all work has been done to code with the exception of the reinforcing of the first floor framing which has not been done to date.
