The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town °uperintendent of Highw~ys~. Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice ClarR; seconded by Justice Terry: ~ That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are dUly R~SOLVED: approved as read. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be held- at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 7, 1952, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. The Town Clerk presented to the Town Board detailed estimates of revenues and expenditures from the various officers and special districts for the next fiscal year. Moved by Justice A~bertson; seconded by Justice by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Rensselaer G. Terry, Jr., Town Attorney, be and he hereby is aUthorized to attend a seminar in Albany, New York~ on October 2, 1952~ in relation to the organization, administration and enforcement of the Multiple Resident Law, and be it Further RESOLVED: That Rensselaer G. Terry, Jr., be reimbursed for his necessary and actual expenses incurred while attending such seminar. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klip · A p~ Justices Terry, Tuthill, lbertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLt~D: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remo~e the aerial street light and fixture from pole #27 a~d replace it on pole #26 on Brid Cutchogue, ge Lane, East in the Peconic Lighting District. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by ~ustice Terry; seconded By Justice A~bertson: RESOLVED: That Philip Weiler be and hereby is appointed as Fire Department Inspector for the Orient Fire Districtsas requested'by the Commissioners of such District under date of September t~, 1952, to serve in such cap- acity until Oanuary 1, 1953, in accordance with Article 8, Section ~O3, Subdivision 4 of the Multiple Resident Law, and be it further RESOL~D: That ~hilip Weiler serve in such capacity without compensation, and be it further RESOLVED: That this appointment~take effect as of S~ptember 30, 1952. A communication was read from Albert Luce~ of 0rient~ requesting the Town Board to have aerial street lights installed on Oyster Ponds Lane. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Justice Terry be and hereby is appointed a committee of one to ascertain the number of street lights and the m~mber on the poles which-these street lights are to be placed on Oyster Ponds Lane. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Snpervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark. Moved by ~ustice Clark; secondedby Justice Tuthill: RESOLVFD: That effective as of September 20, 1952, Elmer Quarty be and hereby is classified as Watchman, permanent, at a salary of Seven Dollars and FifSy Cents ($7.50) per day. Vote of Town Bbard: Ayes-Supervisor KlipD; Justices Terry, Tuthill, and Clark. A communication was read from Burn~tt F. Tuthi~l stating that due to extra duties at the School~he is tending his resignation as School Traffic Officer at the East Cutchogue School~ effective as of September 25, 1952. Moved py Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the resignation of ~urnett F. Tuthill as School Traffic Officer~ at the East Cutchogue Schbol~ be accepted with regret, effective · as of September 25, 1952, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be directed to forward aletter of commendation to Mr. Tuthill. ~¥ote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill~ and Clark. Moved by Justice ~lark$ seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That J. Earle Timpson of Cutchogue~ be and he hereby is appoint- ed School Traffic Officer to direct traffic at the East Cutchogue School crossing at a salary of Four Dollars ($4.00) per day, for each school day worked~ effective as of October 6~ 1952, he to serve at the pleasure of the Board. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthitl, and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOL~ED: That E. Perry Edwards, Justice of the Peaee, be and hereby is authorized to attend a demonstration of the land-filled method of garbage disposal~ to be held at Manchester~ Connecticut~ on Friday~ SeDtember 19~ 1952~ and be it further RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred by Justice Edwards be a legal charge against the Town~ and be it further RESOLVED: That the amount expendeR be charged back against the Fishers Island Garbage and Refuse District after the District has raised money by taxation for Bhe operation of such District. Moved by ~ustice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED:'That the Town Clerk be-and he hereby is d~rected to reqmest th~ Long ~sland Lighting Company to install two additional aerial street lights in the Orient ~ighting District, said lights to be placed On pole #3-~ and pole #7, on Main Street in Orient. visor ~llpp; Justices Terry~ ~ Vote of Town Board: Ayes-'Supe~ Tuthill Albe~tson and C~ark. Moved by J~stice Clark; seconded by Justice Albert~on: WHEREAS~ Oscar Goldin has commenced a proceeding against the Board of Assessors of the Town of Scut~old for the Review of the Assessment of certain real property in the Town~ and' ~EEEAS~ said Board of Assessors has determined that such assessment was proper and ~hat said proceeding is umwarranted and should be vigorously opposed to the end,that such assessment should be upheld by the court~ NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Rensselaer G. Terry~ Jr.~ the Town Attorney~ be and he hereby is authorized and directed to take such steps as he may deem necessary in order to properly oppose and defend such proceeding~ including,without limitations, the obtaining of special council, expert witnesses~ surveys ~nd engineering, and the incurring of such additional ~xpenses as he shall deem necessary and proper.
