MEETING OF JULY 8~ 1952
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E,
Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ July 8~ 1952. The meeting was called
to order at 1~30 P.M. with the following pre~ent: SupervisorKlipp~
Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Albertson and Clark, Town Superintendent
of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board satat once as a committee On audit to examine cl~ims
against the Town~ concluding the audit work at 2 P,M.
Moved by Justice Cl~rk; seconded by Justice Albertson:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at
the office of the Supervisor at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ July 29~ 1952
at 1:30 P.M.

is appointed as Life Guard ~ to serve in such capacity at the Oouthold
Town Bathing Beach~ and be it further

RESOL~D. That Ronald G. ~chmidt be compensated for such position
in the amount of Thirty-five Dollars ($35.00) per we~k~ ~ayableiin
regular monthly payments~ and ~e it further

Whereas~ the ~nited States Department of Agriculture announced that
it~is their intention to establish a hoof and mouth disease laboratory
on ~lum Island
THEREFORE B~ IT RESOLVED. That th~s own Board goes on record as
opposing the establishment of a laboratory on Plo~ ~sland~ Town of
Southold~ N.Y. for research on hoof and mouth disease. The Town Board
feels that it would be to the best interests of the population of
the Town of Southold that said laboratory be not located on ~lum Island.

Mr. William ~agen~ President of the 01d Town Arts and Crafts Guild
stated they would like the antique secretary which was the first desk
the Town owned~ to ~lace in their building aS Cutchogue.
R~0LVED. That the Oouthold Town Board does hereby give th the 01d
Town Arts and ~rafts Guild the care and custody of above mentioned
Antique ~ecretary.

RESOLVED:-That ~ustice Terry and Chief of ~olice Anrig be instructed
to designate a person to direct traffic in front of the ~ongregational
Church on ~oute 2~ in Orient~ from 10:20 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. and from
ll:40 A,M. to 12 N. during the months of July and August. The compen-
sation for such duty will be One Dollar ($1.00) per hour.

RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication has been duly received,

take~over and maintaim as public highways KO~OS ROAD and B~NY L~NE,
situated at New Suffolk~ in the Town of Southold~ New York.

Fire Department Inspectors in their respective Fire Departments, to
serve in such capacity until January l~ 19~ in accordance with

Chester L. Ketcham, East Marion George ~. Stelzer~ Southold
Stanley B.~Ambroski, Cutchogue Norma~H° Boughton, Mattituck

RESOLVED: That the above mentioned persons serve in such capacit~
without compensation~ and ~e it further

RESOLVED:~That the Street ighting Contract between the Town of
Southold and the Long Island Lighting Company~ covering the Southold
Lighting District for a period of f~ve (~) years~ beginning with the
8th day of July, 19~2, and terminating on the 8th day of July~ 1957~
be snd the same is hereby approved by, the Town Board.

-same are hereby ordered paid.
