The meeting was called t° order at 1.30~P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, ~thill, Albertson and Clark; Town S~perin- tendent of H~ghway Price, Town Attorney Terryand Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albe~tson: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are d~!y approved as read. ~Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor ~lipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by ~ustice Albertson; seconded by ~ustice Clark: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of th~s Board be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, July 8, 1~52, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, albertson and~C!ark. Moved by.$ustice Albertson; seconded'by ~ustice Clark; RESOL'~D. That ~orman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and hereby is author- ized to meet with the Insurance Agents now writing insurance policies for the Town of Southold and arrange to have the town insurance written by one agencyon a fleet policy basis. - Vote of Town Bomrd: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Sustice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and hereby is author- ized to arrange for the services of a Life Guard to be stationed at She Towa~Beach for the summer season of 1952. The salary for such services shall be Thirty-five Dollars ($3g.00) per week. Vote of Town board: Ayes- Supervisor ,~lipp; Justice Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by ~ustice Terry; seconded b~ ~ustice Albertson: WHEREAS, it becomes mandatory under Seotion 303 of the ~ultiple Resident Eaw that a Building Inspector be appointed by July l, 1952, NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOEVE, D: That Edwin S. Conklin be and_hereby is appointed Building Inspector for the Town of Southold ~til January l, 195~, and be it further RESOLVED: That Edwin ~. COnklin be compensated for such services in the sum of Eighty-five Bollars ($85.00) per month, payable each and every month~ and be it further RESOLVED: That this appointment take effect as of ~uly l, 1952, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate with the proper p8rties as are required by Section 30,Subdivision 3 of the Town Law. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. ~oved by ~ustice Al~ertson; seconded by Sustice Terry: WHEREAS, there is an apparent lack of seed oysters in this vicinity, which is detrimental to our oyster industries, and WHEREAS~ the oyster industries throughout the Township Contribute largely through their payrolls towards the support of many local res- idents~ which in turn contribute to the wellbeing of the Township at large, and WHEREAS, George Vanderborgh & Son of Sayville, New York, have indicated that it is their desire to experiment with the cultivation of seed oysters and are desirous of leasing the land under water in Downs Creek in the Town of Southold for such purpose, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Town Board that if such exper- iment is successful it would contribute m~terially towards the con- tin~ance of the oNster industries and would be for the best interests of the Town, NOW: TH=REFORE,E BE IT RESOLVED:.~ That this Tow~ Board recommend to the Town Trustees of the Town of °outhold That they lease any or all of the land under water in Downs Creek to George Vanderborgh & Son under such conditions and terms and for such period of time as they deem necessary. Ayes Vote of Town Ooard: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson ~nd Clark. 433 Moved by Eustice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:~ WHEREAS, it has been requested by the Manager of the Fishers ~sland Ferry District that the Purser and the Manager of the District be ~ compensated on a semi'monthly basis rather than on a monthly basis, NOW, THEREFOR~E, RE IT RESOLVED That beginning July l, 1952, the Purser and the Manager of the Fishers Island Ferry District will be paid on a semi-monthly basis; one half of the monthly salary payable on the first of the month, the remaining half payable on, the 15th. Vote of Town ~oard: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry~ Tuthill~ Alber~s0n and Clark. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $2586.50, Lighting Bills in the sum of $1573.60, Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the of $7177.52, be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved BN~°Ustice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED:'That the Police Report for the months of April and May be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded bY Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Street Lighting Contract between the Town of Southol~ and the Long Island Lighting Company, covering the Orient Lighting Dis- trict for a period of five (5) years, beginning vith the first day of July, 19~2~ and terminating on t_~e f~rst day of ~uly~ 19~7~ be and the same is hereby approved by the Town Board.
