MEETING OF MAY 13, 1952
The Southold Town Board~et at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
aK Greenport, on Tuesday, May 13, 1952. The meeting was called to ~rder
at 1:'30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices
Terry, Tuthilland Clark; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the two previous meetings were read and
were duly approved as read.

RESOLVED: That a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board will be
held at the office of the Supervieer at Greenport, on Tuesday,
May 27, 1952~ at 1:30 o'clock P.M.

and Clark.
Moved BN Justice Clark; s~conded by Justice Terry:
WHEREAS, for a period of several years the passenger service furn-
ished by the Long Islamd Railroad to the Town of Southold and the
County of Suffolk has been curtailed to a great extent, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Tmon of Southold has reason to be-
lieve that further curtailment and possible discontinuance of trains
between Greenport and Riverhead which may be substituted by bus ser-
vice, and
WHEREAS, if such action is taken, it is felt that it would be most
detrimental to the residents of this Township, and to the County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board strongly opposes any
further curtailment of passenger services by the Long Island Railroad
Company in this Township and, particularly, any attempts to substitute
such train service with bus service, and he it further
RESOLVED, that if the Long ~lsnd Railroad Company intends in the
future to take any such action that they be requested to furnish this
Beard copies of any information relative to such action, and that
this Beard be given this opportunity to confer with the RailrSad
Company before any action is taken and intthe event that the Railroad
Company makes any applications to the Public Service Commission of
the State of Nww York or any Court o~'any regulatory body for per-
mission to take such action, this Beard be given written advanced
notice thereof so that it may oppose such application in such man,er
as it deems proper, and be it further
RESOLVED, that c°p~es of this resolution be sent the Public Service
Comm~'lssioB, Mr.~Wyer as operating trustee of the.Long Island Railroad,
The~on.. .,~. harold Kennedy,~Anited.~ States District Sudge for the Easterm
Dmstrmct of ~ew Yo~k, and~The ~ong island Transit Authority.

RESOLVED: That Norman El Klipp, Supervisor~ be and hereby is author-
ized to transfer from the Town Incinerator Operation AccOunt to
the General Account the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00),
said amount to be used for ~general town purpose~

RESOL~D: That ~'orman E. Klipp, Supervisor~ be and hereby is author-
ized to transfer from the Surplus Account to the General Account the
sum of Two Thousand Twenty-six Dollars and Seventy-eight cents
($2~026.78), said amount to be used for general town purposes.

RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Oupervisor, be and hereby is author-
ized to make ~rtial payments~ as he deems necessary and a s She work
progresses o~ the'contract between the Town of oouthold and George H.
Smith & Sons~ Inc.,~for repairing, remodelling and improving the Town
Building located on the northerly, side'of Main Road, Southold~ Suffolk
County, New Y~rk~ approXimately 300 feet east of Hortons Lane. final
payment to b~ made ~ithin 30 days after the completion and acceptance
of the work.
