The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.~. with the following present: Super- viso -r ' ' ' ' ' ~ ~ . . r ~ ~on, Justices T~rry, Hawkins, Ktlpp and ~ase~ Town Super- zn~ende~t of H~.ghways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims agaiRst the Town, concluding the audit at ~ ~,M. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duty approved as read. Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Case: Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $i,78~.65, Reirabur- sabls WeLfare Bills in the amount of $2.05, Non-reimbursabl~ ~el- fare Bills in the amount of $22.81 be and the same is hereby ordered pai~d. Unanimously adopted. ~ letter was read from the County Treasurer asking whether there is a~y o,bjec~tion on the part of the ~own Board to satisfying the bond of the Receiver of Taxes. Roved by Justice Terry~ seconded by Justice Klipp: R~so~Ved: That the Town ~lerk be and he is hereby instructed to notify the County Treasurer that there is no objection on the part of the Southold Town Board to the sa~ifcation of the bond of the Receiver a~ Taxes. Unanimously adopted. A letter was read from the Board of Assessors requesting an increase in salaries. Walter Grahie and Kenneth ~onsell appeared before the Town Board on behalf of the assessors. The mat~er was discussed and laid on the table for f~ture consideration and discussion. Moved by Justice; seconded by Justice K~ipp: Resolved: ?nat the Town Board dees hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of th~s Town for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day of ganuary, 19~6, the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it Further Resolved, that this Board shall meet at 2 O'clock P.~. on the 7th day of November, t9~5, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon suchpreliminary budge~ and be it Further Resolved: That the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section tt3 of the Town Law. A Publi~ Hearing will be held b~ the Town Bo:e rd of the Town of Southold at the Supervisor's Office in Green)crt, L.I., on Wednesday October 17, t945, at two o'clock in the afternnon on the matter of the purchase of a new P. & H, Truck Crane to replace the old Crane now used by the Highway Department for a sum not to exceed $15,000.00 with a trade- in allowance of $4,000,00 on the old machine. Also for the purchase of a new Caterpillar Diesel D ? Tractor to replace a Caterpillar 60 tractor to be used by the FLighway Department of the Town. of Southold,~for a sum not %o exceed ~9,000.00 with a trade- in allowance on old tractor of $500.00. 5Ioved by'Justice Case; seconded by Justice.
