The Southold ~o~n Bo~rd met at the office of Supervisor
~en~worth H~rton, at Greenpo~r~ on .Wednesday, ~eptember 5, 19&5.
The moating was called to order at' L:Jo0 R.M. withthe following
present: Supervis°r Hor~on; J~stices Terry; Hawkin~ ~ipp
and Case; Town' S~perin~endent of ~ghways Price~ Town~tor~ey
Terry and Town clerk Booth,
The BoarA sat at once as a ¢om~$ee~ on audit to exa~.e claims
against the t0wnooncluding the audit at 2:00 P.M, ....

~VEEREA~:- a petition has been submitted by Bet~y L. Schm~lzei
and others for the ex~ension of Southold Fire District in the
of Southold to embrace the territory described in the a~exed
peri,ion, such p~ition being duly signed and acknowledged by
more tha~ filly-one per cent of the resident ~axpayers of said
territory and more than fifty-one per cent of the taxable re~I
property of the proposed extension as such valuation appears o~ the
latest comRleted assessment roll of the T~wn of Southold,
R~0LVED:- That a hearing be held before the Southoid Town
Board on the 21st day of Septe~oer, 1945, at two o"clock in the
afternoon of that day to consider and take action on said petition.
That said notice be published in the Suffolk Times of Greenport
and the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchma~ of Sout~old, both
newspapers published in the ~own of Southotd, County of ~uffolk,
New York, and having a general circulation in ~e ~erri~o~.to be
annexed and the same to be duly posted as prescribed by law and
that at such time and place said Town Board shall meet. ~o consider
such petition and hear all persons interested i~ ~he s~ajec~ concern-
ing She same.
The territory desired-to be annexed to said Southold Fire

erly line of Southold Fire District across the road to
Long Island Sound; thence Easterly along~Long Island Sound
to the Northeasterly corner of land of Burr; thence running
Southerly along land of Burr to the N rth Road at the South-
easterly corner of said Burt's land;tfence continuing along
the same course across the North Road to land of Ruch; thence
running Easterly along the Northerly side of the North Road
to the Northeasterly corner of land of Bodecker; thence South-
erly along land of Bodeoker to the Southeasterly corner the~?-
of; thence Easterly to land of Merkel, I~c; thence Southerly
along land of M~rkel, Inc, to land of Cassidy; thence West-
erly along land of Cassidy to the Easterly side of Arshamomoque

The Southold Town B~ard me~ at the office of the To~n Clerk,
at Southold, on Friday September El, 1945. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 PoM. with trhe following present: Supervisor
Hor~o~; Justices Terry~ Hawk~n~ and
~ase, Town Attorney Terry
and Town Clerk
The h~aring on the proposed extentio~ of the Southold Fire Dis-
trict was officially opened at 2:00 P.~. Howard Terry, Com-
missioner Southold Fire District, appeared before the Board in
favor of the petition.~s ~o other person appeared before the
Board the hearing was closed at 2:10 P.M~

Resolved: Following resolution::
~, there has been duly presented to this Town Board
of the ~own of $outhold a w~itten pe~itio~ requesting the estab-
lish~$t of a proposed addition to the Southold Fire District
within the 'own of Southold, to embrace the territory hereinafter
described; ~nd
I~HERE~S, this .Noard has ~etermined that such petition was
signed and acknowledged by resident taxpayers owning more than.
one-half of the taxable real property of such district, and
~~, a notice containing a description of the proposed
fire district and specifying the time when ah~ the place where
the ~own Board would meet to consider the petition and to hear
all persons interested in the subject concerning the same, has
been published and posted as required by law, and a public hearing
has taken place in the Town Clerk's Office in the ~own of Southold,
Suffolk County, New York, within the limits of the proposed fire
district on the 21st day of September, 1945, it is hereby
RESOLVED, that this Board find and determine upon the
evidence given at said hearing, that it is in the public interest
to grant in whole the relief sought, and it is further
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section l~l of the Town Law of the
State of New Y~rk, there be and hereby is established and extended
a fire distric~ within the Town of Southold, to be conzained
in and embrace the following boundaries, to wit:--
