The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S. Wentworth
Horton, at Greenport, on ~uesday, July 3~ i945. Ttie meeting was call-
ed to order at 1:30 P.E. with the following present: Supervisor
Ho~on~ Justices Terry~ Hawkins~ Klipp and Case; To~n Superintendent
of ~ghways, Price; Town Attorney, Terry and Tow~ Clerk, Booth.
The Boart sat at once as a committee on audit ~o examine claims against
the Town concluding the audit at 1:50 P.M.
The minu~es of the previous meeting ~ere read and duly approved as

Resolved: That General Bills in the amo~nt of $642.64, Reimbursable
~elfare Bills in the amount of $8.85, , No~-remibursabte ~elfare Bills
in the amo~nt of $44.51 be and the same is hereby ordered paid&
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Case:
Resolved: ~hat the ~o~n Glerk be instructed to order the Long Island
Lighting Co. to install one additional light in the Southold Lighting
District; said light to be on Pole No.. 9, Founders Estates, Southold.
Unanimously adopted.

Resolved: That the ToE Board place the mat~er of protecting escal-
lops i~ the hands cf the Supervisor; and that he hereby is authorim-
ed tG appoint at his discretion Officer ~one Chituk to special duty
~o enforce the escallop Ordinance.
Unanimously ad~p~ed.
Capt. Ghas. Sproessig appeared before the Board complaining about
people clannning on his property at CutchGgue. The Board feels that
he is enti~led~to some protection. Justice Case was requested to
inform the Town Potice to act on Mr. Sproessig's comptain~.
Moved by Justice Case~ seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That ~s. Marguerite Young be engaged to assist on the
tax books at a sala~ of $5.00 per day.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Case; seconded by justice Hawkins:
Resolved: That as the required papers have been duly received by
the Town Board, and the map has been fuly filed, the Town Board take~
over and maintain the road known as ~icks Road in the village of
New S~ffolk.

Moved by Justice Case; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: ~hat the ~outhold ToWn Board hereby recommends Frank S.
E~wsoa of Ee~ Suffolk fo~ reappoi~tme~t as At,end,ce Supervisor
for ~he common schools of the To~of Soutk~ld for ~he year 1945-46,
at a salary of $~50. per annum, he to pay his own travel expense.
Said appointment subject to the appr~vgl of the District Superinten-
dent of Schools and that the Town Clerk be directed to notify the
Superintendent, Harry B. Ward of the recommendation of this Board.

Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of the Town Board be
held at the Supervisor's office on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1945 at ~:30 P.M.
Unanimouslyadop~ed.
Adjournment was at 3:00 P.M.
