The Southold Town Board met at the office of S. Wentworth Horton,
at Greenport on Tuesday, June 5, 1945. The meeting was called to
order at l:.3O P.M. with the foolowing present: Supervisor tIorton;
~ustice Terry; Haw~.~ and Eiipp; Superinlendent of Highways
Price; TO'w~ Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth,
The Ward sat at once as a c'om~ttee on audit to examine ak. aims
against the Town, concluding the audit at 1:50 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as

Resolved: That ~eneral Bills in the amongst of $t,$7~o~4, Reimbur-
sable Welfare Bills i~ the Amount of $5.00, Nom-re~mb~rsable Welfare
Bills in the amount of $25.29 be and the same is hereby ordered paid.

Re'solve~: ~That each assessor shall receive six cents for each mile
necessarily traveled by the use of his own automobile or otherwise for
the inquiry as to damages-done by dogs.

The Town Clerk was instructed by the Town Board to communicaie with
H. Sacks and $ons,~and i~fOrm them that the residents of Mattituck
~:~ect to having the tree on Uestphalia Road removed, said tree stands
on ~he highway from the west endof their building.

Resolved: That a v0~te of thanks be extended to ~ Marion Arnold
for the faithful and efficient manner in which she has carried on the
work of Civilian Defense during the pas~ four years.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Klipp:
Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting .of the Town Board be held
on ~day, June 22, 1945 at 1:30 P.M.

CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATION
We, JOHN L. WASSON, JOHE~TY and HAROLD R. RF~EVE~ being
~he duty elected and all of the Park Jommissioners of the Mattituck
Park District hereby certify pursuant to Chapter 924 of the Laws of
1941 that at a special meeting of the resident taxpayers of the Mat-
tituck Park District held at the Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street,
Mattituck, in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and state of
New Yo~k on the 28th day of April, 1945 between the hours of ?:00
P.~.. and 10;00 P,~. Ea~te~-n ~ar T~me, the s~m of Four Thousand Five
Hundred ($4500.00} Dollars was appropriated by said resident tax-
payers for the purpose of purchasing the lands described in the an-
nexed notice of meeting, to be provided by the issuance and~sale of
t~wn bo~ds,
