Distance between new and old retaining wall is necessitated by
presence of improvements such as fish pond located close behind

stability.
The Council strongly recommend disapproval because the applicant is
proposing to take 4' of beach; there is a strong chance the beach
would be destroyed; and would create "pockets" along the side of

Gentlemen:
In January 1993, I mailed to you a request for an.emergency bulkhead
replacement permit under the government disaster area program. In April I
personally went to your office to enquire as to the status of the permit.
I was told by "Jill" that they could not locate the permit request at that
time. I returned in May and at that time they located the file. I was given
an application fo~ the emergency permit which I am enclosing in its completed
and notarized form along with the DEC permit copy.
Would you please be so kind as to expidite my permit as I am anxious
to complete the work. I was also told there is no charge for this permit
in as much as it is an "emergency replacement".
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Sincerely,

Gentlemen:
My home at the above address is in the disaster area that was declared due
to the recent winter storm.
The concrete bulkhead which was protecting my property was destroyed and much
of my property has been washed away.
I am requesting an EMERGENCY BUILDING PERMIT in order to install a wooden
bulkhead similar to the one my next door neighbor, (Soundview Restaurant),
installed about six months ago. The bulkhead I plan to install would continue
at the same line and level as the one at Soundview.
I have applied for government emergency funds and therefore I will need the
longest expiration date possible.
I have enclosed a picture of my property for your inspection.
Thank you for your prompt attention to my request.
Very truly yours,
