APPROVED
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
applicant requests permission to construct addition on front
of dwelling which will reduce front yard setback. The
property is located on the south side of Shore Road, Greenport,
New York. The findings of the Board are that this is a
reasonable application as many of the houses on this street
have less setback than that which applicant..requests. The
Board agrees with the reasoning of the applicant.
The Board finds that strict application of the Ordinance
would produce practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship;
the hardship.created is unique and would not be shared by all
properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property
and in the same use district; and the variance will not
change the character of the neighborhood, and will observe
the spirit of the Ordinance.
THEREFORE IT WAS RESOLVED, Howard E. and Marion A. Williams,
181 Greenwich Street, Hempstead, New York be GRANTED permission
to construct addition on front of dwelling which will reduce
front yard setback from 38 feet to 30 feet, on the south side
of Shore Road, Greenport, New York, as applied for.
Subject to Suffolk County Planning Commission approval.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Messrs: Gillispie, Bergen,
Grigonis, Hulse.

REASON FOR APPEAL
Continued
1. STRICT APPLICATION OF THE ORDINANCE would produce practical difficulties or unneces-
sary HARDSHIP because
House was constructed when front yard set back was 35 Ft. and
Bldg. was not set back far enough to ihclude proposed addition.
2. The hardshipcreatedis UNIQUE andisnotshared by all properties alike in the immediate
vicinity ofthis propeffy andinthis use district because
We own first Lot outsid~ Greenport Shores Sub division and
cannot be enlarged
3. The Variance would obse~e the spirit ofthe Ordinance and WOULD NOT CHANGE THE
CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT because
It will still be a one family home and will still be used as a
one family home in residential "A" District
