MINUTES OF SPECIAL DISTRICT MEETING
.
November 22nd, 1960
The Special Meeting of the Mattituok Park District was
called to order by Robert L. Bergen at 6:4$ P. M. on NOvember 22,
1960 at the Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street, Mattituck, in
said District.
Kathryn I. Cox, Secretary, read the Notice of Meeting. The
affidavit ot publication in The Long Island Traveler - Mattituck
Watchman and the affidavit ot posting were made a part of the
minutes.
Mr. Bergen stated that the Commissioners had secured an
option from Mrs. Anne M. Baum tor the purchase of the parcel on
Peconic Bay and also planned to improve the Park District site
on Mattituck Creek at the toot of Love Lane. He further exp1aine
that the District had on hand, sufficient surplus monies trom the
sale of sand and gravel from the Park site on Luther's Road but
that in order to expend these monies it was necessary to secure
the consent of the resident taxpayers of the District.
The Tellers, Martin Suter and Clarence Bennett, were sworn
in and the polls were declared open at 7:00 P..M. At 10:00 P.M.
the Chairman asked if there were any others who had not voted
who wished to vote and the polls were tareupon closed. The
Tellers were instructed to count the votes and report to the
Chairman. The Tellers reported as follows:
Proposition No.1: 236 votes cast
222 Yes
13 No
1 Void
Proposition No.2: 236 votes cast
207 Yes
24 No
$ Void
The Chairman thereupon announced that both propositions were
approved and the meeting was adjourned.
