Regular Meeting of' the Commissioners of' the Mattituck Park District was held
at Comndssioner Reeve's of'f'ice on May 21. 1973 with all Collllllissioners prellent. . Also
present vere Mr. Hamilton. Mr. Burks. Mr. Alec and Mr. Levine. Mr. Lark also present.

Minutes of' the previous meeting were read and approved.

Mr. Bergen declared the acceptance of' bids for the concession at Veterans'
Memorial Park closed.
One bid of Karl Baunach. Pine Street. Mattituck. for Veterans I Meoorial Park
for $10.00 opened accompanied by certified cheek of' $25.00.
Commissioner Reeve moved that decision of bids received b. reserved.
Mr. Burke then asked about the possibility of tennis courts being erected
on the Bay Avenue site. Mr. Murphy explained the demand by local people for
additional tennis courts. One of the locations requested was the Bay Avenue site.
Mr. Burke was in accord with tennis courts and had no objection to them but hoped
no lights would be installed as his property adjoins the park property.
Mr. Hamilton said he felt something had to be don at the Love Lane site
to keep it more private for the local people. Mr. Burke said he had received a
brochure in the mail that list~d the ramp as a fi"ee ramp. The booklet came frO!ll
Suffolk County. Mr. Murphy said he felt the initial outlay must be protected and
perhaps the site could be turned into !I. park and apologized for the mess and tha't
the Collllllissioners were f'ully aware of the problem. Mr. Murphy asked how Mr. Hamilton
felt if the site was treated the s_ as the others and closed at dark. Mr. T,ark
felt this was a good move.
Mr. Levine stated that he did not sUbmit a bid because Mr. Lark informed him the
water and electricity was to be tl1!'L,...d off and he vas interested in l"mning the
marina as such. He son was interested in vatc hing the ramp and keeping the site clean
and neat and run it the way it should be.

Mr. Levine asked what would be done now that there were no bids received.
The commissioners said that the site would have to be open for the recreational
facilities and that they would meet with Mr. Levine to go over the entire operation
and that it would be closed after dark like the rest of the sites.
The visitors then left the meeting
Motion made and carried to accept Karl Baunach's bid for $10.00 for the Veterans'
Park site. Mr. Lark to teke care of all the legalities.
Commissioner Bergen said he has told Mr. Kraus to turn off the lights at Wolf Pit L
Lake for the summer.
Mr. Hllrphy suggested bike racks at the various sites. Mr. Krause to contact
the school where to purchase the metal type.
Rommisioners to con!lider tennis courts on the Bay' Avenue site. Commissioner
Murphy to get t'igures on confl1n-uction.
