Budget MeetJng of the Board_ Commissioners of the 'Wttituck Park District held at _ American Legion Hall, Wickham Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. on August 21, 1978 at 7:00 P.M. with all Commissioners present. . ---- . Commissioners Goehringer and Reeve together with Mr. Bill Krause, Custodian, and Treasurer Melot . inspected the Memorial Park. At 6:50 P.M. Commissioner Reeve swore in the Inspectors of Election, Mrs. Ruth Krause, 14r. Chippy Bennett a\'ld Mr. David Tuthill, and at 7 :00 P.M. the polls were declared open. Commissioner Murphy opened the Commissioners meeting at 7:45 P.M. In the absence of Secretary, Madeline Haas, the minutes of the previous meeting were tabeled until next month. . Treasurer Melot reported that we had received $475.00 from Marine Pollution Contral Inc. This price had been agreed upon between them and Chairman Murphy. . Approximately fourteen people interested in our Bailey Beach park stayed for one and one-half hours discussing our problems with beach buggies, vandalism and erosion cau~ed by Mother Nature. Among those who spoke were Mr. and Mrs. Cortese, Mr. Frank Kujawski, Russ Nine, Mrs. Dove, Mr. Hood, Mr. and Mrs. Maggio. They expressed their feeling of concern and gave suggestions for saving the Bailey's Beach site. Chairman Murphy interrupted the meeting to hear the teller's report given by Mr. Chippy Bennett Which was as follows: Budget as proposed: . Chairman Murph ppointed Michael Cortese and FWk Kujawski to bring back concrete proposal for stopping the erosion within the next month as we all felt a severe storm could ruin several hundred feet of our property. . Chairman Murphy moved that we ask Russ Nine atld Mattituck Scouters to close their entrance to the Scouters building, seconded by Commissioner Goehringer. Motion carried. . Russ Nine who heard the motion agreed to try his best to close the road. Chairman Murphy moved the Commission close the road at a.point 100 feet from,the Scouters building, seconded by Commissioner Goehringer. Motion carried. . Chairman of the Mattituck Free Library Trustees wished to know if we had ordered park benches for the area behind the Library. Commissioner Goehringer informed him that 3 pairs of concrete bench ends had been ordered. After a unanimous vote, the meeting was adjourned.
