The minutes vere read and approved. The Treasurer's report vas approved as read: Checking Account Savings Account Certificate of Deposit Total $ 1,294.07 13,473.84 12,000.00 $ 26,767.91 The folloving bills vere ordered paid. The Lutheran Church vas granted permission to have a church picnic on September 13th at Veterans' Park. Letters to be vritten to Suffolk Times, Mattituck Watchman and Amie Sacks thanking Mr. Sacks for the donation of the comer parcel of land on Westphalia Road. vas A resolution/made by Mr. Murphy, seconded and carried to thank Mr. Sac!ts cClDlDending him for his thoughtfulness in donating this property to the Park District. This meeting was called to order af'ter Mr. Reeve swore in our Inspectors of Election for the budp,et vote. Many interested Sound property owners and tenants attended the meeting to protest and ask what could be done about the four-wheel drive vehicles and dirt bikes that were completely breaking down the dunes and destroying the natural habitat. Mr. Murphy read a letter from Gail Wickham, attorney for the Park District. A general dis= cuss ion of Town Law and Park District Law folleve! Signs are to be placed on the refreshment stands stating that anyone who violates the rules and regulations will be penalized. A visitor proposed to adopt local Law #1 and to amend some of the Park District lalls and so noti f'y the Southold Town Board and the Southold Town Police. All recommendations are to be con- sidered and the Commissioners promised to take all up with their attorneys and try to resolve the situation. The polls were declared closed at 9:00 P.M.
