HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-05/18/1983 Minutes of the regular month~ meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on May18, 1983 in the Mattituck High School Library with all Commissioners present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Treasurer's report was approved as follows: Cash in Money Market Account $62,178.37 Cash in Checking Account 536.09 Tot al $62 ,714.46 The following bills were ordered paid: LILCO Gen. $ 61.27 N.Y.Telephone " 82.17 Bergen Oil " 151. 34 Penny Lumber " 222.18 Raynor-Suter " 219.69 Academy Printing " 141.75 Mattituck Auto Parts " 9.87 Reeve Lumber " 404.28 Agway " 706.98 Mr. Brigham, Miss Reeve, Miss Dudek, Ed Stelzer attended the meeting representing the Slo-Pitch and Ladies Softball Leagues. Mr. Brigham reported that some lights had been re- placed. He is to check to be sure that all lights are in working order. He also reported that the plexi-glass was broken out of the score board. Mr. Murphy asked the leagues for help in policing the grounds regarding drinking and parties in the st anding, particularly with team people. Mr. Brigham was asked to have the members of the teams playing the last game each night to ask the fans to pick up the litter before leaving and before the lights go out. Ray Nine is to deliver a couple of years of dirt or clay mix to fill in several holes in the in-field. The Commissioners will pay the bill. Mr. Ray Nine, Mr. Bob Fox. Scout Master, and Mr. Joe Visser, Webloes Leader, and Mr. Jim Cox attended the meeting regarding the Scouters Lodge. The Scout Master that an Eagle Scout for his project is repairing the shutters, back door to be replaced, stain for the building, tile for the floor. Commissioners suggested a big amber light should be put up on a pole. Commissioners have the pole. Scouts are to get information for a plaque for George L. Penny III and give it to the Commissioners. Park will get the plaque. Mr. Burke reported the launching ramp sign has been ordered. The Commissioners said that Jim Burns will be paid $4.00 per hour, Joe Aiello $4.00 per hour and Doug Burns $5.00 per hour for the summer. Joe Aiello is working only until life=guarding starts.
