Re: Proposed Amendment of Wetland Permit for William and Marilyn Pymm
SCTM# 1 000-122-9- 7 .25
WILLIAM & MARILYN PYMM request an Amendment to Permit #417 to relocate and
realign the existing 3'X 12' ramp and 6'X 20' floating dock. The proposed relocation of both
structures would accommodate a new proposed 4'X 12' floating dock and three (3) 35' long
guide piles, and one (1) 30' long guide pile for extra support of the overall assembly. Located:
2504 Camp Mineola Rd. Ex!., Mattituck. SCTM#122-9-7.25
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 95, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of South old Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. Based upon the information provided on the L WRP Consistency Assessment Form
submitted to this department, the information stated by the applicant in a October 24, 2005
telephone conversation, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the
proposed action is generally CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is
CONSISTENT with the L WRP provided that:
1. No CCA is used in the constructiou of the dock facility.
Pursuant to Chapter 95, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing
its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
Please contact me at (631) 765-1938 if you have any questions regarding the above.

Re: Proposed Amendment of Wetland Permit for William and Marilyn Pymm
SCTM# I 000-122-9- 7 .25
WILLIAM & MARILYN PYMM request an Amendment to Permit #417 to relocate and
realign the existing 3'X 12' ramp and 6'X 20' floating dock. The proposed relocation of both
structures would accommodate a new proposed 4'X 12' floating dock and three (3) 35' long
guide piles, and one (I) 30' long guide pile for extra support of the overall assembly. Located:
2504 Camp Mineola Rd. Ex!., Mattituck. SCTM#I22-9-7.25
The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 95, Waterfront Consistency Review of the
Town of South old Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy
Standards. It is my recommendation that more information is necessary to make a consistency
recommendation, specifically:
1. The water depths of around the existing dock have not been identified and must be
identified to establish the need for the proposed action.
2. The width of the waterway is referenced at 100', please have the applicant determine
the width of the waterway from the opposite shoreline that is navigable (appears to be
submerged hazards off of the opposite shoreline) to the proposed dock extension with
the boat docked as shown.
3. The applicant proposed CCA treated lumber, please advise the applicant that the
LWRP does not support the use ofCCA treated lumber in marine waters.
Pursuant to Chapter 95, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing
its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
Please contact me at (631) 765-1938 if you have any questions regarding the above.

Policv #6 :
Because the scope of project is minor, any impact relative to the LWRP will likely be insignificant and
not measurable. However, since the project will result in relocating the float to deeper water, any
impact to surrounding vegetation will be positive.
The project will also be adding four piles and removing one pile, using the same approved (CCA)
materials as exist in the current dock. Therefore, the project will equally protect against adverse
ecological impact of materials as does the existing structure.
