Board of Appeals file~ Very truly yours, President Board of Town Trustees Albertsen Marine Main Road Southold, New York January 29, 1989 11971 Mr. Robert Greene Regional Permit Administrator NYSD~C Building 40 State University of New York Stony Brook, New York 11790 Dear Mr. Greene: Recently I was in touch with Mr. Robert Schwartz, the regional engineer of the NYSDOT, with hopes of enclosing a section of open ditch stradling our property and Route 25 in Southold where we run Albertson Marine. Our only reason for enclosing the ditch is the difficulty of maintaining safe operations and insurance for moving boats to our storage facility on the property. He indicated we will be able to install pipe and culvert to his specifications provided we secure a letter of permission or non-Jurisdiction from your office. As we believe this ditch is beyond the permitting Jurisdiction of NYSD~C, we,none the less, wish to secure your letter of permission/ non-Jurisdiction so we may proceed accordingly with the DOT. Enclosed for your use is: 1. Photocopy of Suffolk County Tax Map showing locus. 2. Photocopy of Tidal Wetlands Map showing locus. Self-addressed, stamped envelope (we hope your prompt reply will enable us.to make these safety changes prior .to moving boats out of storage next month). The ditch is usually dry being wet only after it rains, and it contains only a few phragmites and no other marsh grasses that we can identify. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. If a field inspectDn by an E.C.O. or Environmental Analyst would expedite our receiving your letter of no Jurisdiction, please contact me or my dad at 765-~2~2. Sincerely, William Witzke Albertson Marine CHECK OFF LIST FOR APPLICATIONS 1. Paid Application Fee 2. Paid $25.00 Waiver Fee with request letter ~/ '/ 3. Inspection date.~c~/~/ 4. Sent to C.A.C. 5.
