HomeMy WebLinkAboutTR-12/07/1982The regular' meeting of the Board o~ Southold Town Trustees was held at 7:30 PM, Tuesday, December 7, 1982, at the' Town Hall, Main Road, Southold N. v Present were: President Paul Stoutenburgh ' · Vice President Frank Kujawski Trustee Henry Smith Trustee John Bendoski Bay Constable Thomas Czelatka Clerk Marian Goubeaud Absenz: Trustee John DiVello President Stoutenburgh called the meeting to order at 7:30 PlL On motion made by )~r. Kujawski, seconded by Mr. Bednoski and carried, the minutes of the November 9, 1982, meetine were approved. On motion made by Mr. Stoutenburgh, seconded by ~r. Kujawski and carried, the mooring renewal permits for the month of January were approved. Mr. John Costello was presenz at the meetins to question the permit issued to Frederick Raymes. He stated the application presented to the Trustees differed from the one received by the .CAE. ~r. Costello also brought to the a~zention of the Board that the project exceeds ~.~r. Raymes' property line and encroaches on the property of the Peconic Holding Co. The Board requested a letter be sent ~o ~r. Raymes szating-the above and to inform him thaz the acceptance of the Dermi. t for the plans submitted to the Board does not give him the right to ~redge on another's property A copy of the letter is to be sent to ~r. Costell~. ' Mr. William Peters, who was presenz at the meeting, volunteered to survey and inventory Little Creek for the TrusZees. On motion made by Mr. Stoutenburgh, seconded by Mr. Kujawski, it was RESOLVED to tab,le until the next meezing the application of Pierre Wagner to place a mooring in Mattituck Creek as complications have arisen and the Board would like Mr. Wagner to be present at the January meetin~ to discuss the situation with him. Vote of Board: Ayes: ~essrs Stoutenbur~h Kujawski, Smith, Bednoski. ' ~ , Mr. Stoutenburgh met with Town Attorney Tasker in regard to moorings in Gull Pond. Mr. Tasker advised the Board to hold them in abeyance. In regard to the application of Phil Marco to construct a dock, ramp-and floating dock in Little Creek, Peconic, Bay Constable Czelatka, Mr. DiVello. Mr. Stouzenburgh and ~rlon Wiggin tested the water depth at the sit. e. Mr Wiggin made a p esen~at~on on the revised application. Mr. William Peters, representing Nassau Farms Association felt the association would agree to the revised plan. On motion made by Mr. Stoutenburgh, seconded by Mr. KujawsKi, it was RESOLVED that a late filing fee of $10.00 will be charged for applications submitted on structures that were constructed after January 1, 1973, with- ouz a permit. Vote of Board: Ayes: Messrs. Stouzenburgh, Kujawski Smith, Bednoski. , On motion made by Mr. Bednoski~ seconded by Mr. Smith it was RESOLVED not to grant az this time the request of Mar~in & Sarah Rau'ch for~'a quit claim deed to the property west of their residence, as per the advice of Town Attorney Tasker. Vote of Board: Ayes: Messrs.. Stoutenburgh Kujawski, Smith, Bednoski. ~ Mr. Stoutenburgh will meet in Syosset on December 10, 1982, at 1:00 PM, with 508 Donald Bin~ham, Sub~'-il][i~ Geological Survey, on ~e problem of guidelines fo~~ dredging . A letter was sent to the Suffolk County Dept. of Public Works extending the date to December 30, 1984, on the permits for reconstrnction expiration Mud, Downs and West Creek Bridges, as per their reauest. A letter was received from Jerry Churchill of Adelphi suggesting he ~ake a look at some of the specific areas of interest in order to judge the feasibility of ~ransplanting eel ~rass. Mr. John Wickham has been invited to accompany him. In response to the letter from the South.old-Peconic Civic Association, the Trustees will recemmend to the Town Board that a cogy of the Shellfish Ordinance be ~iven out ~ith each Shellfish Permit. On motion made by Mr. Kujaw~ki, seconded by Mr. Bednoski, it was RESOLVED to recommend to the Southotd Town Board the approval of the wetlands application #1t~ of Strong's Marine Center to install a travel lift st~p 4~ ft lon~, 2~ ft wide on land end and 20 ft wide on water end; ~o dredge (66 cu yds) within the slip in James Creek, Matt~tuek. Vo~e of Board: Ayes: Messrs. Stoutenbur~h~ Kujawski, Smith, Bednoski. On motion made by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Bednoski, it was RESOLVED ~o approve the application of Charles ?[ittmer to place an onshore stake mooring a~ R±chmond Creek, SoUthold. ~ote of Board: Ayes: },[essrs. Stoutenburgh, Kujawski, Smith, Bednos'ki. Bay Constable Czelatka re~orted that Councilman Frank Murphy would like ~he Trustees to make a survey of the creeks in order to make a priority list for dredging. Mr. Czelatka also reported that the Baymen's Association would like to see a ramp for the residents of Southold Toxin adjacent ~o the Town Dock. The Trustees feel there is already to, much traffic in this area, but there should be a ramp for Town residents, possibly a~ the mouth of the creek, an¢ the Trustees will make such a recommendation to ~he Town Board. They also suggest the Baymen~s Association contact the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce and the Mat~ituck InleI Advisory Committee with their request. There being no further business ~o come before the Board, Mr. Kujawski made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bednoski and carried to adjourn. Meetin~ adjourned at 9:30 PM.
