HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/31/1967 _._~, . . . . . . !!.!NUT~~ SOUTHOLD TOWN MASTER PLAN May 31, 1967 A SCheduled meeting on the Southold Town Master Plan was held at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on May 31, 1967, at 7:30 P.M., There were present: John Wickham, Chairman, Planning Board, Henry Moisa, Frank Coyle, Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, Howard Quinn of New York State Dept of Commerce, Fred Hulse,Jr., Town Board of Appeals, Richard May,Jr. and William Barron of Raymond and May Associates, Howa~d Terry, Building Inspector. The meeting was opened at 7:45 P.M., by acting chairman, John Wickham. ,...~I> ~to~'i) Mr. May received^a copy of Massachusets New Law on wetlands dredging, etc. A copy which~s sent to the Supervisor and John Wickham by mai~. There was a discussion on lands in this Town that might be affected by such a law. The matter of William pollert's application for a grant of land under water and dredging into the fresh water pond north of Brocknock Hall and west of Greenport pump1ng statio~as brought up for consideration. On motion by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Coyle, and unamiously carried, it was agreed that the Planning Board should file an objection with both the State Water Resources Commission and the Commissioner of General Services to the grant of land underwater and dredging into the fresh water pond from Long Island Sound. It was also voted to request Mr. Whitlock to write both agencies giving anc, engineering objection to this project for the Town; a copy of the legal notice to be sent to Mr. Whitlock. The Village Planning Board and water department are also to be contacted about this and urged to file objections. This brought on a discussion of the trustees jurisdicaion over meadow lands, wetlands and other low areas subject to tidal flooding. This should be clarified. . Southold Town Master Plan -2- . May 31, 1967 . On motion by Mr. Coyle, seconded by Mr. Moisa, and earned, the minutes of the last meeting were approved as mailed out. A revised airport layout plan and cost estimates were received from Mr. Cook of State Department of Commerce Aviation Bureau. These were reviewed and on Motion by Mr. Moisa, seconded by Mr. Coyle and unamiously carried, we approve this site ~~ located and specifications as presented in the May 24, 1967 letter from Mr. Cook. There was more discussion and review of the "millor subdivision" section of the Subdivision Regulations. These were corrected and updated and a fee of $10.00 per lot was agreed upon. Also five prints of each project are to be submitted. On motion by Mr. Moiaa, seconded by Mr. Coyle and unamiously carried, we approve the subdivisi. on regulations as ammended and corrected tonight. Raymond and May Associates are to print up 50 copies of the corrected and revised "Regulations" for the public hearirw and the Planning Board's use. They will pick up the box of~ri9nally proposed subdivision regulations and insert the corrections or reprint some if necessary. The new map of proposed development plan was displayed and reviewed. There was a long discussion on multi family buildings and proper locations for them; also on the proposed new limited access road along the L.I.R.R. from Mattituck easterly and where i~should be laid out on the westerly end of theTown. Raymond and May recommend stopping any building along the proposed "new road" and present Route 27 through the more built up section near Mattituck now and to hold back any approval of access to either Route 27 or proposed new road. The date for the next meeting was left open. June 21 was set tentatively. Raymond and May are to advise us a week in advance. Mr. Barron will be out next week to do mare work and pick up the subdivision booklets. Mr. May and Mr. Barron are to go to Fishers Island tommorow to do the final work and recommendations.
