Lane hlld written to Ray Jacobs and Jean Cochran tor help with problems with
motorists speeding through the area R.J. told group stop signs were out of the
ques1ion and suggested the group speak to police for help with enforcement.
STTC told Ms. Vacari that group should send letter formally requesting inclusion in
traffic study; Bay Ave. leads to a well-used beach at the Nassau Point Causeway and .
should be suitable for inclusion.
Committee Aecointments: Frank Field joins STTC. Town Soard will be interviewing
other applicants.
Letter to LIAR Discussed: A letter discussing objections to railroad stations and
Southold's expectation of having input on design was drafted. The letter also asked to
open dialogue on light rail service for East End.
Kavak Launch Procossl Submitted to a Second..AClency: Jim McMahon submitted
kayak proposal to another grantor.
National ;::ark Service OfficiallY Notifies Southold ot its Intetl1iQ.n.!c;J:!elo with Moore's_
WQ,ods Project: Victor Brown will Check with Ray Van Etten abc;uI Greenpart's other
pending grant applications for Moore's Woods. Barbara Michelson will notify
Audubon Society of latest development. V.B. suggested we press L1RR for land use
contribution in RR corridor near desired green belt. N.S. responded that we need to
await Bob Lazaro's replacement at LIRA. Meanwhile, V.B. will ask :safety engineer
who attended RR luncheon in fall '95 how we should proceed. .
Proaress of Trail Sians: In researching other sign sources, Ray Jacobs was not able to
obtain a iower price than that proposed by P & E graphics. Paul Kreiling will be
asked to start work on color disks, Victor Brown will work with Neb Brashich and
Margaret Brown on mapping placement 01 traffic signs. Highway Department will
install signs at no charge, . but will keep track of labor costs for in kind contribution.

Jet Ski AeQulations Discussed' STTC will ask Town Board to prohibit jet skis at kayak
launches created as part of Sea View Trails. Further jet ski bans will be researched
and discussed. Bernie Jacobsen will obtain Shelter ISland ordinance,
