Moore's Woods project are upcoming.
Scenic Byways: Steering committee will meet on October 30th. On November 6th
from 7:00 - 9:00 PM mini-charette will be held at Southold High School. Publicity
produced few applicants for adviSOry group. STTC will place an ad in paper.
Seaview Trails Phase II: Melissa discussed potential possible conflicts with land in

trails but not have legal right to do so. New subdivisions have already pledged use of
land to town.
EE Transportation Council: Position paper will be presented to mayors and
supervisors. If approved, then DOT will be invited to meet with the group.
L.I. Transportation Planning Technical Advisory Committee: This group held its first
meeting. Valerie attended as representative of five East End towns. She is on the
subcommittee for land use and zoning. The group will meet again in December.
Grant application submitted: Southold seeks to hold a workshop on ferry related
impacts. This would be a step taken to get dialogue going with Connecticut planners.
Valerie spoke to Alexander Treadwell about her frustration about L.I. being left
out of planning concerns. He suggested the workshop and using waterfront
revitalization programs as a means to study impacts. He will back this use.
In 1998 NYSDOT will present its model for the regional transportation plan and begin
to work with East End and Southold Town. Valerie suggests using data generated by
scenic byways study to form ST transportation plan.
Next Meeting will be held on November 24th at 8:00 AM.
