Dear Mr. Anderson:
The Board of Town Trustees took the following action during its regular meeting held on
Wednesday, November 14, 2007 regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, Suffolk Environmental Consulting, Inc. on behalf of JERRY CALLIS
applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of Chapter 275
of the Southold Town Code, the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
application dated September 28,2007, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory
Council and to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program Coordinator for their findings
and recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 268, said application was found to be Exempt
from the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program policy standards, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said
application on November 14, 2007, at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and the surrounding area, and,

WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 275 of the
Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the
health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of JERRY CALLIS to
demolish the existing single-family dwelling and construct a new, smaller single-family
dwelling with attendant sanitary system, with the condition of the installation of gutters
and drywells to contain roof runoff and in accordance with Chapter 236 of the Town
Code-Storm Water Runoff, a line of staked hay bales to be installed 25' seaward of the
house prior to construction, and as depicted on the project plan prepared by Suffolk
Environmental Consulting, Inc., last dated November 15, 2007 and received on
November 16, 2007.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date the permit
is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the
date of this notification.
Inspections are required at a fee of $50.00 per inspection. (See attached schedule.)
Fees: $100.00

Based on the information your agel!t submitted and additional Department infonnalil)fl, the New York
State Department of Environmental Conservation has made the following determination.
The portion of the referenced prop~rty that is landward of the existing functional concrete seawall
greater than 100 feet in length and constructed prior to 8/20./77, as verified on AeroGraphics Corp.
aerial photograph (exposure # 73-;048) dated 4/6/76, is beyond the jurisdiction of t\rticle 25 Tidal
Wetlands.
Therefore, in accordance with the l:urrent Tidal Wetlands Land Use RegulJtioll" j(, ,,"eRR Part 661)
no permit is required under the Tidal Wetlands Act. Please be advised, hO\\ t" Cf. that no construction,
sedimentation, or disturbance of allY kind may take place seaward of the tidal \\ dland" jurisdictional
boundary, as indicated above, without a permit. It is your responsibility tn en'dt,' th3t all necessary
precautions are taken to prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or dht.lrh:lIht' to the ground
surface or vegetation within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction which may result from :\lllf project. Such
precautions may include maintaining adequate work area between the tidal wl'tbnd jurisdictional
boundary and your project (i.e. a I S' to 20' wide construction area) or erecting a Il'lIIporary fence,

INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the premises available for inspection throughout the work.
C;. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property nave been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.
APPLICATION IS HEREBY MADE to the Building Department for the issuance of a Building Permit pursuant to the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of South old, Suffolk County, New York, and other applicable Laws, Ordinances or
Regulations, for the construction of buildings, additions, or alterations or for removal or demolition as herein described. The
applicant agrees to comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, building code, housing code, and regulations, an 't
authorized inspectors on premises and in building for necessary inspections.
