TO: Deputy County Directors of Civilian Protection
SUBJ~CT: Re-establishment of Street Lighting
Please be advised that Mr. Phelps, representing the
Long Island Lighting Company of Bay Shore, will, in a very short
time, contact you in regard to putting back all street lights
which have been turned off to comply with dim-out regulations.
Some of the lights turned off are in strategic loca-
tions such as curves, intersections, bridge-heads, etc. and due
to the hazard of dim-out driving it is the opinion of this office
that certain of these lights may be turned on provided they are
properly screened.
Will you make a survey of your territory with parti-
cular regard to those lights which have been turned off and as a
safety measure should be turned on. When you are contacted by
fur. Phelps give him the permission to turn on the lights you
designate.
