a. It is the responsibility of the Civil Aeronautics

b. The responsibility for extinguishing radio tower

cluding certificated airport and obstruction lights,
rests with the representatives of the Office of
Civilian Defense.
2. Privately owned aeronautical navigation and obstructional
lights are those lights not operated by the Civil Aeronautics
Administration or any other United States Government Agency.
They are the beacons, obstruction and boundary lights located
on private and municipal airports.

ercised before ordering the extinguishment of such lights,
to determine ~lrst. that the safety of any aircraft that may
be enroute in or near the area, may not be jeopardized.
Such a determination can be made by contacting the airways
Communication Station at the airport location, if one is
provided, or, in instances where no Airways Station is wit~
in the area, making contact with the airport officials.
