Jamesport. Robert Spence, Babylon. Minutes of the last meetinc; of July lOth were read and approved. Hereafter. in order to cut down on number of telephone calls on assembly. the Vinute ~en shall assemble at desiG- nated points upon sounding of the blackout siren. Each Division Commander shall work out detailed plan for such assembly. place of assembly. approximate nwnber of men in each group, names ~nd telephone numbers. submitting same to the Sheriff for his information and guidance. In order to avoid any conflict in authority. the Sheriff shall take up inunediately with the War Council the author- ity and duties of the State Guard, and so as to avoid a re~etition of incidents at Central Islip and Bay Shore dur- ing recent blackout. when the State Guard took over functions of Civil Defense workers. When such clarification is obtained all groups to be so instructed. Blackout liGhts approved by the OCD shall be placed up- on all necessary cars as soon as possiblo.. Appropriate in- 8i3nia :signifying the l~nute Men shall be procured. if pos- sible. after first consultation TIith the War Council and fur- nished to l~_nuto Men as soon as possible. with instructions to all Civil Defense Ylorkers as to honorin.:; sane.
