Please be advised that at the meeting of the Suffolk County
Police Association of March 11, where all police chiefs were pre-
sent or were represented by deputies, they agreed upon the motion
that was put before the gathering and voted unanimously that the
following be done:
1. That all auxiliary police be deputized special deputy
sheriffs of Suffolk County under the directions of the
local police ohief in the community in which they re-
side. Blanks for this purpose oan be obtained from the
she~iff's office at Riverhead and should be done so at
once. These deputy sheriff appointments will be given
to eaohman at the same time his arm band is issued to
him.
2. It is strongly recommended that the chiefs of police
of Suffolk County train their men that lack training
with the,Police Course issued by Interna~ibnal and
State Police Chiefs Association in order that the auxi-
liary policemen will be uniformly traLned throughout
the oounty. ,
3. That all auxiliary police be trained by their police
chiefs in t~affic control and general police work.
Any police chief that desires extra copies of this
course can obtain same from Riverhead.
