SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 5, 1993
MINUTES
PRESENT WERE.: John M. Bredemeyer, III., President
Albert J. Krupski, Vice President
Henry Smith, Trustee
William Albertson, Trustee
-And by special request: Mark Mc Donald
WORKSESSION: 6:00 6:30 p.m.
1. The Board agreed that formal minutes shall be taken at
future meetings.
2. The Board agreed that Dvirka and Bartilucci should
submit an agreement for ratification to establish fees within
the $5,000 allotted for researching water regulations and not to
exceed the hourly charges currently charged the Town for
landfill investigations by that firm.
3. It was agree<l that the Board President should take the lead
in inviting the water authority to discuss their plans
surrounding the A.T. holding property.
4. The Trustees agreed to formulate their own water advisory
committee and start the process by sending letters of invitation
to past Town Board Water AdvisOry Committee Members.
5. Trustee President, John Bredemeyer explained that Dr.
Lizewski never attended the illegal/ill-conceived meeting he
called for April 1, 1993.
6. The Trustees may try to attend the 10:00 a.m. April 8, 1993
meeting on SPGA in Hauppauge. The Planning Department has
agreed to take notes for us if we are not able to attend.
7. The Trustees agreed it would be best to start the rule
making process concerning the development of groundwater
regulations prior to developing memoranda of understanding with
the Town Board on "overlaps." The Trustees remain convinced the
best course of action for the Town Board would be to dissolve or
suspend the activity of their water committees but shall not
comment at length on this issue as we do not want a negative
aspect to impact discussions on overlap when they are
appropriate.
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Worksession with Tom Maher and Nicholas
Bartilucci of Dvirka and Bartilucci:
1. Board requested and D&B agreed to submitting proposed fee
schedule within the context of the $5,000 approved Town Board
expenditure.
2. Trustee President John Bredemeyer gave a brief oral history
of the Trustees and explained the Boards position with respect
to the Laws of 1893.
3. A general discussion was had over the potential benefit of a
classification of waters regulation as it might positively
impact on and protect agriculture, local industry and the
environment while being consistent with current zoning.
