Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Fonn submitted to this department as well as the records available to me, it is my detennination that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the L WRP. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Town Board shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written dete1111ination regarding the consistency of the proposed action. Ene. WOODHOUSE Chair PLANNING BOARD OFFICE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD MEMORANDUM To: Scott Russell, Supervisor Members of the Town Board From: Jerilyn B. Woodhouse, Chairperson Members of the Planning Board Date: August 28, 2007 Re: "A Local Law in relation to Amendments to Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Retail Merchants," As requested, the Planning Board has reviewed the above-referenced local law and finds that the proposed amendments are a vast improvement from the current law. The Board recommends approval of the local law, subject to the following comments and recommendations: I. The Planning Board is requesting that the legislation be gender neutral by replacing the term "him" with "applicant." 2. Add the following sentence under Section 197-10B: a. Reviewed bv the Planning Board to ensure the preservation of the unique visual and historic setting of the Long Island North Shore Reritage Area and the Town of Southold designated Scenic Bvwavs. 3. It is recommended that outdoor seating be prohibited. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact this office.
