LETTER OF CERTIFICATION
Recently the Building Deportment contacted the owner of the above referenced project and informed her
that the building permit had expired.
The construction of a new garage - replacing a barn at the same location - was constructed back in 1998.
according to the owner.
On January 19, 2007 the final inspection took place taking note that the footings under the two 6x6 posts
be certified in order to obtain the Certificate of Occuponcy.
I visited the garage today with the contractor Tom Beebe of Sid Beebe & Sons Builders who was in
chorge of the construction at the time. Two 6x6 posts, 84" O.c. support the triple 2>:12 center beam.
According to the contractor (2) lO"diameter footings were initially poured in the wrong place (see
attached photo) and needed to be replaced by two new footings - circa 2' -0" x 2' -0' x 2' -0'. The
footings were then poured along with the 4' thick concrete slab.
Neariy 10 years later there are no signs of cracks in the concrete slab. Having successfully worked with
Tom Beebe on many other projects there is no doubt in my mind that the footings were executed as
described. .
