HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-06/21/2007 ~1h( 7' Minutes of the June 21, 2007 meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held in the office of the Veterans Park building at 11280 Peconic Bay Boulevard, Mattituck, New York with Commissioner Gerard Goehringer, Chairman, Commissioners Jerome Zuhoski and Tom McCaffery present, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline S Haas, Secretary, Edward Grohoski, Maintenance, Gail Faircloth, Clerk, Gail Wickham, Attorney for the District. In accordance with a published Legal Notice in the Suffolk Times, there was a vote by the resident taxpayers of the Mattituck Park District for the adoption of the Proposed Resolution for the Sale of Property of the Mattituck Park District known as part of Hazard Road 33' x 114' on the east side ofSCTM# 1000-140-19.1. At 7:00 P. M. the polls were declared open and the voters began voting. At 9:00 P.M. the polls were officially closed. Gail Faircloth and Nora Finnican had been named Inspectors of election. They counted the ballots and the results were 7 5 Voters registered 75 Ballots Cast 23 YES Ballots Cast 52 No Ballots Cast. Also as the voting was going on, the resident taxpayers were attending an informational meeting regarding the Proposition for erection of a telephone cell tower (flag pole style) on the Veterans Park site. Gail Wickham monitored the question and answer period. At 9:00 P.M. the taxpayers began to leave. At 9: 15 P.M. Mr. Goehringer called the regular monthly meeting to order and thanked the people who remained from the voting No minutes of the previous meeting in May were presented because of the vote. On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried the following Treasurer's report was approved as presented and the following bills ordered paid. Gerry Goehringer said that they usuaJ1ly don't do that. The Commissioners check the bills prior to making the motion. Mr. McGlone suggested getting information out to the public. Frank Polistena is to be told that the 4 of July is out. Torn McCaffery suggested accepting the proposal of Ward Associates to design a state of the art sports lighting system utilizing Musco lighting, subject to counsel approval------to I ;.511+ the soccer field area and the baseball field should the budget ~ allow, including security light fixtures on designated poles to provide light for the existing parking area. Jerry Zuhoski suggested purchasing a 12 pack of 6 foot round banquet tables from LIFE TIME (white) at a price of$160.95 each for a total of$1653.99. These tables would be used in the large room of the new building. Commissioners have ordered doors for the back of the large room in the new building, to open up on to the porch. The irrigation system at the ball field has to be taken care of On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconeed by Jerry Zuhoski and carried the following pay amounts for the ticket girls has been changed due to an increase in the minimurn wage schedule to $7.15 per hour: Denise Goehringer Beatrice Casaula Meghan Burns Chelsea Ficner Mary Buckingham $ 9.75 7.50 7.15 7.15 7.15 No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
