Minutes of the July 12'11, 2007 meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the
Mattituck Park District held in the office of the Veterans Park building at 11280 Peconic
Bay Boulevard, Mattituck, New York, with Gerard Goehringer, Chairman, Tom
McCaffery, and Jerome Zuhoski, Commissioners, present together with John Cushman,
Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary, Edward Grohoski, Maintenance, Mr. Williamson, a
volunteer worker for the Park District, Joseph Zahra and Doris Aiello, interested
taxpayers of the District, Mr. and Mrs. John Wright, taxpayers, two Lioness members,
Meeting called to order.
On motion of Tom McCaffery, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried, the
minutes of the May and June meetings of the Commissioners were approved as
presented.
On motion of Jerome ZOOoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the
following Treasurer's report was approved as presented and the following bills were
ordered paid:

Mrs. Florence Schneider of the Mattituck Lioness organization spoke about the
chair they want to have purchased for the Veterans Park site in memory of Barbara
Brookbank, a deceased member of their organization. Commissioners to order two chairs
- one for the Lioness group and one for the Park District. The Lioness chair will have a
plaque on it. The Park District chair will go to the Breakwater site. As soon as the chairs
come in Mrs. Schneider will be notified and the bill sent to East End Lioness, P.O. Box
1718, Mattituck, New York 11952.
There will be a gathering at the Capt. Kidd Breakwater Beach at 8:30p.m.,
August I. 2007 for an evening of observation star gazing. In case of rain on the first, the
date will be August 2, 2007. Ed Grohoski will close up the site when the watching is
finished.
Mr. and Mrs Wright asked the Commissioners to write a letter to the Mattituck
Yacht Club abut closing up the opening at the softball site on Peconic Bay. It must be
left opened so that the people can use the public access. Mr. Goehringer suggested to Ed
Grohoski to put up a sign "Please obey the No Parking" signs on the opening so that
people can use the public access.
Mr. Goehringer said that Jennifer Woodhull wants to use the parking lot at the
Yacht Club site. Someone is having a wedding in the area and needs parking space. She
wants .to know if they need a Certificate ofInsurance. Commissioners had no problem
with the parking.
On motion of Tom McCaffery, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried, to have
Ward Associates to start with
Tom McCaffery said the Supervisor told him that the 6 month moratorium on
erecting cell tower is going to be
Richard Zahra and Doris Aiello said they just came to set in on an open meeting.
They had a discussion with the Commissioners about the people's attitudes that had been
present at the meeting about the erection of the cell tower.
The bulkheads were discussed but still working on the permits.
Letter received from Edward Andrew Grohoski tendering his resignation from his
position with the Park District to be effective as of July 14,2007. On motion of Gerard
Geohringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried Edward Grohoski's resignation was
accepted.,
On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, John
Cushman, Jr. was hired by the Park Distsrict,commencing June 28, 2007, for $7.15 per
hour.
Insurance Coverage was discussed. The new building is insured for $480,000.00
and the contents of same insured for $15,000.00.
Capital Expense of bulkheads - 28 feet at Vets Park, 14 feet at Yacht Club cost
$42,000.00. Love Lane bulkheading 60 feet. Lights on Aldrich Lane, $150,000.00.
Edward Grohoski is to cut the electric line from the shower on the east side of the
new building and move the shower to along side the office door.
Town Trustees have okayed approval of the jetties at the Bay and Marlene Lane.
No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Jerome Zuhoski,
seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
