Dear Mr. Martocchia;
Since I wrote you confirming our agreement that we
could take care of dogs for your warden-board dogs for
five days and then put them to sleep and cremate them-
I have had telephone calls from some Southold Town residents
They criticized the above arrangement. They say that
Riverhead is too far for many of Southold' s citizens to
travel to pick up their pets and therefore many would be
put to sleep. Also, many pets are found and identified
by local people who might see them in the pound, and
thereby notify their neighbors , as many dogs lose their
collars and identification.
This would be a temporary arrangement, as Southold
Town, with a population at least 14 ,000 more: than Riverhead,
will certainly have to build a pound. Riverhead built
their own pound about five years ago.
Your police will still have emergency service and
I doubt that they will be allowed to run to Riverhead

with dogs hit by cars in the late night and early morning
hours. So after thinking this thing over I think Southold
had better plan to build their own pound.
We do have facilities here , but often these dog pound
dogs have distemper or leptospirosis and should not
be housed with healthy dogs. We would have to isolate the
sick dogs.
If Dr, Zitic cannot accomadate the volume, we will, .
on a temporary basis , take the overflow.
The charges will be our standard fees.

Large- (over 50 lbs) - 6. 00 per day

I think dogs have to be kept five days. I hope this
helps to clarify matters.

Dear Sir;
I have been requested to send a statement declaring that
the Riverhead Animal Hospital has facilities to take care
of your Southold Town Dog Warden's dogs. In other
words , the Town Dog Pound would be here in our Boarding
Kennel.
This letter is to confirm my telephone conversations
with you and Mr. Homan.
I would suggest that your Dog Warden come here and get a
price list for boarding, euthanisia and cremation. I expect
the prices will be about the same as you have been paying
Dr. Zitic.

A COMPLETE CAPABILITY H
Product Design: Q
H. F. I. personnel include some of the most experienced structural bonding ■
experts in the country. This experience is available to our customer for guidance 1I '
in the proper selection of the honeycomb concept, an often confusing new world
of manufacturing techniques. Y
C
Concept : Q
Along with product design assistance, utilizing the best selections of
materials and fabrication techniques available, H. F. I. can offer unique ap-
proaches, such as: East and/or West coast fabrications, assembly on or off con- b
struction sites etc.
Engineering :
Our expert analysis is invaluable in identifying the most economical
materials and fabricating technique available while achieving the primary
design goals required.
b
r '
Cost Analysis :
Closely relating to all phases of developing a product, the engineering input '
is most effective when applied from product conception at H. F. I. The engineer-
ing expertise is applied to the uncomplicated designs as well as the most so-
phisticated space hardware.
Fabrication • Bonding • Laminating :
The various detail items comprising any assembly should be conceived and r
produced in a coordinated and integrated process. For this reason H. F. I. has es-
tablished a manufacturing facility capable of producing machined, laminated
or bonded assemblies completely in house. Complimenting this is the surround-
ing availability of one of the largest labor and manufacturing pools in the country.
I
Quality Control : n
Our basic philosophy is that the control for quality must be monitored
throughout the entire manufacturing process, thereby assuring a good product C
when the final inspection is due.
