The undersigned declares that he has carefully examined and fully understands
the attached "Notice to Bidders", the "Specifications" and this form of Proposal and
that he hereby proposes to sell, deliver and install the office furniture specified to the
Town of Southold, in accordance with the price named in this Proposal, at the bidders
own cost and expense, and in accordance with the Proposal and the attached "Notice to
Bidders" and "Specifications", all of which are attached hereto and form a part hereof,
for the following price to wit:

deposited with the Town Board shall be paid to the Town of Southold for the benefit of
said Town as liquidated damages for such default; otherwise, the certified check
deposited herewith will be returned to the undersigned.
By submission of this bid or proposal, the bidder certifies that:
(a) This bid or proposal has been independently arrived at: without collusion with any
other bidder or with any competitor or potential competitor; (b) This bid or proposal
has not been knowingly disclosed and will not be knowingly disclosed, prior to the

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals are sought and
requested for furnishing office furniture to the Town of Southold, Suffolk
County, New York.
The sealed proposals will be received by the Supervisor of the Town
of Southold at the office of the Supervisor, 16 South Street, Greenport, New
York, until. 3:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time on the 30th day of November,
1976 and will then be publicly opened and read aloud. Specifications, form
of proposal, instructions to bidders and general conditions of the contract
can be obtained at the office of the Supervisor, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York. Proposals must be made upon and in accordance with the form
available and shall be made and received upon the following conditions:
Proposals shall be made in duplicate, addressed to the Town Board of the
Town of Southold and delivered to the Supervisor enclosed in opaque, sealed
envelopes, addressed to the Town Board of the Town of Southold, marked
"Proposal for Office Furniture" and bearing the name of the bidder. Each
proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of a certified check payable to
the order of the Town of Southold in the amount equal to 5% of the bid price.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or the
proposals will be rejected within 45 days of the date of opening of proposals,
subject, however, to the discretionary right reserved by the Town Board to
waive any informalities in, reject any and all proposals and to advertise for
new proposals, if, in its opinion, the best interest of the Town will thereby
be promoted. No bidder shall withdraw his bid within 45 days after the
opening of bids.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SALE, DELIVERY AND
INSTALLATION OF OFFICE FURNITURE IN SOUTHOLD
TOWN HALL.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Under these Specifications, proposals are sought for a contract for the purchase,
delivery and installation of specified items of office furniture to the Town of Southold to
be :installed in the Southold Town Hall located at Main Road,, Southold, New York
(present building and new addition thereto presently under construction).
All materials furnished and all work to be performed by the successful bidder
shall in all respects comply with the laws, rules, regulations and requirements of all
governmental agencies having jurisdiction thereof.
Bidders are advised that they will be required to examine the plans and specifica-
tions for the new addition to the Town Hall, become familiar therewith and to make the .
new installation in accordance with said plans and specifications and under the super-
vision and direction of the architect retained by the Town in Connection with said new
construction.
Bidders are further advised that it is the intention of the Town that the office
furniture be completely installed and in operating condition at or before construction
work on the site is complete and the building is ready for occupancy by the Town.
Bids shall not include sales or other taxes from which the Town of Southold is
exempt.
Each bidder shall be required to guarantee the equipment furnished by him against
defective workmanship or materials for a period of one year from the date of delivery
and installation thereof.
Each bidder must submit with his bid, a properly executed non-collusive bidding
certificate on the form attached to the bid form.
Each bid must be submitted on the bid form supplied by the Town.
Each bidder must specify the number of calendar days within which the office
furniture will be delivered and completely installed.
The bid price shall include any and all delivery costs of the equipment to the site.
PAYMENT
Payment for the purchase and delivery and installation of the office furniture shall
be made by the Town within thirty (30) days after the same is delivered and installed
and accepted by the Town.
BID SECURITY
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check made payable to the Town of
Southold in an amount equal to at least 5% of the bid price. If the successful bidder
fails or refuses to execute the contract within five (5) days :after he has received notice
of the acceptance of his bid, he shall forfeit said bid security as liquidated damages.

name and/or model when used herein shall not be deemed to restrict the various items

COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS
Each and every provision of law and clause required by law to be inserted in this
contract shall be deemed to have been inserted herein. Without in any way limiting the
foregoing provisions of this paragraph, attention is particularly directed to the applicable
provisions of Article 8 of the Labor Law (wages, hours, statements showing amounts due
for wages, discrimination, preference in employment, minimum rate of wates, etc. ) and
Article 5-A of the General Municipal Law (Public Contracts).
