Box 442 Southold, New York $500. 00 certified check Arlene Marvin bid amount - $3, 551. 00 260 Horton' s Lane- received subject to conditions Southold, New York $500. 00 certified check 1 SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE AND REMOVAL OF TOWN CLERK'S BUILDING AND SITE RESTORATION General Information The Town of Southold has entered into contracts for the construction of a new addition to the Southold Town Hall located on the North side of Main Road, Southold, New York. Incidental to such construction, the contractor is required to move the Town Clerk's building presently attached to the Town Hall to the rear of the property and place the same upon blocks. It is proposed by these Specifications that the Town offer for sale the wood frame former Town Clerk's building. In addition to such sale, the successful purchaser will be required to remove said building from the premises of the Town and to restore the site to its condition prior to such removal. It is intended by these specifications that the price paid by the 'successful bidder is to include not only the sales price of the building but also to include the removal of said building by the successful bidder at his own expense and the complete restoration of the site likewise at the expense of the bidder. Removal of Building The successful bidder will be required to furnish all work and materials required for the removal of the Town Clerk's building from the premises of the Town. The successful bidder will be required to remove the building from the site in a Northerly direction to Travellers Street and then to the site of the bidder. The bidder will not be permitted to move the building across any other property of the District. Time The bidder will be required to commence the work required herewith within fifteen (la) days after the signing of the contract and to complete all work required within sixty (60) days of the date of the signing of the contract. Insurance The bidder will be required to provide the; necessary Workmen's Compensation and disability insurance for all workmen engaged in the work. The successful bidder will be required to procure and keep in force during the term of the contract public liability insurance policies in the amount of not less than $500, 000 bodily injury and $50, 000 property damage insurance. Such policies shall name the bidder and the Town of Southold as named insureds and a copy of such policies must be filed with the Town Clerk at the time of the execution of the contract. Permits The bidder shall be required to obtain at his own expense all necessary permits, certificates and other permissions and consents required by any and all governmental agencies and other public authorities and utilities. The bidder will also be required to give all required notices and to pay any and all fees and charges incident to the performance of the work required. In the performance of the work, the bidder shat{ comply with all laws, ordinances and regulations of any and all authorities having jurisdiction in the matter. Security On the execution of the contract, the successful bidder will be required to furnish to the Town Board a performance bond in the amount of $2, 000. 00 to insure that all work required to be done by the bidder will be performed in the manner and at the time provided for herein. In lieu of furnishing a performance bond, the bidder may deposit with the Town Clerk a certified check made payable to the Town in the amount of $2, 000. 00. -2- i Payment of Contract Price The successful bidder will be required to pay to the Town the sum set forth in his proposal at the time that the contract is executed by the parties. Condition of Building No representations as to the present condition of the building or its suitability for a particular use are made by the Town, it being intended and specifically understood that the building being sold is to be sold in an "as is, where is" condition.
