that the A. C. Construction Company be awarded the contract for this work at

The Board directed the Manager to contact the A. C. Construction Co. for a
price on covering the door tracks at the airport hangar with aluminum, said
aluminum to be painted with zinc chromate and then painted as per the
specifications. The Chairman stated that he had been contacted by Raymond
King, of Long Island, a salvager, who was interested in looking over the
buildings proposed for removal and also any other salvage materials. If there
is any value there ke will offer the District a price for the salvage. The
Chairman said that King will be over Friday. Regarding the steel doors on the
batteries in Mosquito Hollow, Comma Lamb stated that they have removed by
persons unknown and are lying around and in the batteries. The I'lanacer re-
quested that the road to this are be blocked. Comma Baldwin was authorized
to do this. Regarding the work on the dock in New London, the Board authorized
Comma Baldwin and the ftanager to go to ~ew ~ondon and meet with Mr. Snapp of
Whaling City Dredge & Dock Corp. and representatives of Spearin Preston &
Burrows and draw up some specifications on the work involved. Chairman
Ferguson said since wB have postponed going to West Harbor, we should consider
putting a new ramp on the pier at Ft. Wright. Oeneral discussion ensued.
Comma Baldwin suggested one similar to the ramp in New London. He suggested
placing it near the freight shed as this section of the dock is in better
condition then the other and also we could at the same time be operating from
the old ramp while this is under construction. Comma Grebe stated that he
thought it was his understanding that Henry Walsh's dock would not be used for
any commercial purpose and yet he has brought over cinder block, utilizing the
dock for unloading. General discussion ensued. Chairman lo'erguson said that
the deed covering this is ,pecific in that it states the dock would at no time
be used commercially.

The Board was of one mind that an attempt should be made to get the U. S. Navy
and the U. S. Coast Guard to participate in repairtng the rack. The Manager
stated that in the outstanding obligations of the l<'erry l.iistrict rendered
for the month of December 1959, Invoice #E04124
dated December 22, 1959 of the Socony Mobil Oil Company in the amount of
$291.49 had been omitted from the list but had been included in the bills paid
