Home My WebLink About09/07/1960 " -- ..:....---.;1 MINUTES OFrHE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF cor.mISSIONERS OF THE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT Sept. 7. 1960 A speoial meeting of the Board of Commissioners was oalled by the Chairman and held in the office of the Fishers Island Ferry District September 7. 1960 at 7:30 P.M. Present were H. Lee Ferguson, Jr., L. O. Lamb. A. R. Grebe. Polly Edmonds, L. S. Baldwin and W. C. Sinclair, Manager - ~ecretary. The Minutes of the Meeting held August II, 1960 were read and approved as read. Motion by Edmonds and Grebe that vouchers #8324 through #8358 inclusive in the amount of $16910.08 representing the outgtanding ol~igations of the Ferry District for the month of August 1960 be -.)aid. Motion unanimously carried. Chairman Ferguson abstained from voting on the F.I. Farms, Ind. the Fishers Island Electric Corp,. and the Fishers Island Telephone Corporation bills. Motion by Grebe and Lamb that the Manager be authorized to arrange a charter of the Mystic Isle Sunday Sept. 11. 1960 to leave Fishers Island at 2:15 P.M. Motion unan- imously carried. Chairman i"erguson stated that in a previous meeting the Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed to accept the West Harbor property from Mr. A. L. Ferguson for the amount of $4300 which Mr. Ferguson spent in removing , the old pier. C,ommissioner Edmonds said that at the time she agreed to this that she was not aware that Remington Rand Sales School was leaving Fishers Island with the result that the Ferry District would lose considerable revenue. General discussion then ensued on airport runway expansion as discussed with Mr. Dennison. Suffolk County Administrator. The ~~ager read a copy of a letter dated Aug. 7. 1960 from the Fulton P & I claims department regardi~ the injury to Mr. F. M. Blagdon. August 7. 1960. The Board then reviewed the Report of the Estimated Operating revenues and Expenses of the Fishers Island Ferry District for the perio~ January 1. 1961 through December 31, 1961 in- clusive. as prepared by the ~4mager. General discussion then ensued on the expense and revenue estimates of this budget. Motion by rlaldwin and Grebe that the Report of the Estimated Operating Revenues and Expenses for the period Jan. 1, 1961 through Dec. 31. 1961 be accepted in its entirety and that $35.463 be raised by taxation for the year 1961. Motion unanimously carried. General discussion then ensued on the proposed winter schedule. It was suggested that when this schedule is prepared that the Sunday schedule be as follows: Lv. New London 9:30 A.M. 4:30 P.M. Leave Fishers Island 10:30 A.M. 5:30 P.M. General discussion then ensued on relocating the Manager's office.
