Re: waterfront Revitalization
.,
Dear scott,
The minutes of the Local Waterfront Revitalization
Advisory Committee meetings should be availacle to you
in Town Hall. Currently, we are reviewing the 44 state
policies and tailoring the woruing to cetter reflect con-
ditions in Southold Town.
Our committee discussed your letter at our last meet-
ing. We would like to see the Town cecome more fully com-
mitted to preparing a plan. Otherwise the state will p~-
vide a less comprehensive generic plan for Southold. The
Town should hire a consultant. The Town should form a Wa-
terfront rlevitaliaation committee consisting of meIncers from
the ZEA, 'rrustees, Town tloard and Planning /joard, to act
as a coordinator for the various input sources such as the
Advisory Committee, the state Department, the Consultant,
etc.. Our Advisory Committee specifically needs a person
from the Planning Board office to work with us. Tnis cer-
son should work full time at preparing the waterfront plan,
and act as a liason between our committee, the consultant,
the state and the Waterfront Revitalization co~~ittee.
The individuals of our advisory group nave proven them-
selves as dedicated hard working citizens interested in
comprehensive planning for Southold's future. W~ are con-
tinuing with this effort witn the hope that Southold Town
government will' ' show tne same commitment~to
action.
