Citizens Advisory Committee Local Waterfront Revitalization Program 1/19/88 Attending: Valerie Scopaz, Town Planner, Steve Latson, Peter Kren, Frank Bear, Don Stanton Valerie opened the meeting with a brief outline of the previous meeting and an explanation of the map. It was agreed that Steve Latson would act as chairman and Peter Kren as secretary. Fisher's Island will be treated as a separate entity. The following general questions arose during the discussion: I) Park Districts - how established, how operated, can they be changed, enlarged, etc. 2) Town Drainage Criteria - existing data & guidelines, etc. 3) Density - when computing, are wetlands included in the computations to the developer's benefit 4) Mooring Permits - suggest a review of the process, and explore expanding jurisdiction to 1500' along Bay 5) Town Policy on Living Aboard Boats In reviewing Sub-Areas I to 4, several items were added to the 1/6/88 comments. RECREATION - limited public access, primarily by park district facilities - marina/mooring areas 4. FLOODING & EROSION - low land areas 5. HISTORIC - Fort Corchaug - check w/Town Historian 6. FARMLAND - some large holdings south of RT 25 7. WATER QUALITY - ground water quality surface water runoff contamination of creeks - Marratooka and Laurel Lakes
