Mr. Gato and Mr. Pfaff just stopped in to see how the Commissioners were
coming with the fields and lights. Mr. Pfaff said he had spoken with Eric of Cutchogue-
News Suffolk Park District to give him the information about the financing. Eric said to
come to them for specific things and he could act on it. Gerry Goehringer told the men
about the meeting he had with the Town and was told $100,000 was still there for the
Mattituck Park District. Mr. Gato and Mr. Pfaff then left the meeting.
The Commissioners were informed about Betty Tyler being home from the
hospital. Gerard Goehringer asked if the Secretary would get a plant or flowers and have
them sent to Betty. She said she would.
Ms. Gallagher said they were present to ask if they could use the softball field on
Peconic Bay Boulevard because the Town told them the Southold Town field was fully
booked and they could not find a field to play on. The Commissioners said the Park
District has no lights at any field because they are being replaced due to age of the
original ones. During the winter a pole had blown down and the Commissioners felt the
rest of them were not safe for anyone to be playing under them. The Commissioners
suggested they go back to the Town and talk to them about their team being fit in at the
Town field. The women thanked the Commissioners and left disappointed.
A cork board sign was discussed to be put up at the Aldrich Lane site just outside
the fence and to the east for North Fork Soccer people.
Mr. Williamson is to start getting prices for repairing the tennis courts on Bay
Avenue site.
On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Gerry Goehringer and carried to pay
the estimate of $2500. from Mattituck Fence Co. for (1) approximately 310 feet of 4'
green vinyl chainlink fencing at the Aldrich Lane field. They will remove the existing
wire and will replace posts and top rail as needed; (2) approximately 140 feet of 4' green
vinyl chainlink fencing replacing the damaged fence, posts and top rail.
The secretary was instructed to get in touch with Barbara Droskoski to ask her to
come to the April 12, 2007 meeting at the new building (11280 Peconic Bay Boulevard)
at 7 p..m. to get the life guards taken care of.
Gerard Goehringer said there will be some type of receptacle set up at the Egg
Hunt for donations for Hannah Prokop.
Edward Grohoski is to get in touch with Ed Costello about the spile or spiles to be
replaced at Love Lane and ask if he can do it and also do something with the floating
docks.
The Bay beach and Baileys beach have to be cleaned.
On motion of Jerone Zuhoski, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the
contract with Highland Consultants is to be signed.
No further business to come before the meeting on motion of Jerome Zuhoski,
seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
