This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following: for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of ,property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
less than 2/10 of 1% lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compiianoe from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and
Vpre-existing" land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application amd a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the

INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application MUST be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted to the Building Inspector with 4
sets of plans, accurate plot plan to scale. Fee according to schedule.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to adjoining premises or public streets or
areas, and waterways.
c. The work covered by this application may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Building Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such a permit
shall be kept on the pre~nises available for inspection throughout the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose what so ever until the Building Inspector
issues a Certificate of Occupancy.
f. Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months a~er the date of
issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the
property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the pemfit tbr an
addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required.

GENERAL CONSTRUCTtON NOTES
1~ The information on this set of constmcton documents is to relate basic design
intent and fTaming details. They are intended as a conslmction aid, not a substitute
for generally accepted good building practice and compliance with currant New York
state building codes. The general contractor is responsible for providing standard
construction details and procedures to ensure a professionally finished, sflacturally
sound, and weathelproof completed product.
2. General Contractor to coordinate all sub contractors, scheduling of work, and
interaction between trades.
3. The general contractor is responsibts for ensudng that all work and constructon
meets or exceeds current federal, state, and local codes, ordinances and regulations,
etc. These codes are to be considered as pa~t of the specifications for this building
and should be adhered to even ri they are In vadance with the plan.
4. Dimensions shall take precedent over scale drawings (do not scale drawings).
5. The designer has not been engaged for construction supervision and assumes no
responsibility for construction coordinating with these plans, nor responsibility for
construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures, or for safety
precautions and p~ograms in connection with the work. There are no warranties for a
specific use expressed or implied in the use of these plans.
6. Refer to floor plans, extedor elevations, and window schedule for types and sizes of
windows. Ali windows to be Andersen high performance quality or approved equal.
7. Door and window headers to align unless otherwise noted.
8. General contractor ~s to ensure that masonry and prefobr[cafed fireplace
consteJcton meets or exceeds all manufacturer's specifications and apphcable codes.

bedroom, verify with local code requirements as per Section R317, New York State
Residential Construction Code. Install carbon monoxide detectors as per code.
GENERAL FOUNDATION NOTES
1. General contractor to review plans, elevations, and details to determine intended
heights of finished floor(s) above typical grade.
2. All footings to rest en undisturbed soil.
3. Provide %" expansion joint matedal between all concrete slabs and abuflJng
concrete or masonry walls occurring in exterior or unheated intedor areas.
4. Concrete on 4" sand or gravel tilt minimum, with 6x6 - 1 gl 1 g wire mesh re[nfeming.

Fasteners and Connectors for V~od Frame Constmcton
1. A continuous load path between fooSngs, foundations wails, fleers, studs and roof
framing shall be provided.
2. Approved connectors, anchors and other fastening devices not included in the
Standard Building Code, Table 2306.1 shall be installed in accordance with
manufacturers recommendations.
3. Metal plates, conneetorsl screws, bolts, and nails exposed directly to the weather or
subject to salt corrosion in coastal areas, shall be stainless steel or hot dipped
galvanized.
4. V~ere windows and doors interrupt woed structural panel sheathing and siding,
flaming anchors or connectors shall be provided at the top and bottom of cdpple
studs, header studs, and et least one stud at each side of opening.
5. Ridge straps shall be attached to each pair of opposing rafters except where collar
ties of lx6 or 2x4 lumber is located in upper third of attic space and attach to each pair
of rafters.
6. When a sf~ucture is designed as a "PaPally Enclosed Building" uplift connectors
shall now require 20 gage strapping with six 8d nails provided at each rafter beadng.

masonry foundations. Anchor bolts shall be located within 12 inches of comem and at
