The door has a self-closing device. The plumbing contractor added fire pipe collars in three locations - where the waste line penetrates the ceiling to the first floor and walls to the adjacent spaces-which are the existing garage to the right and the storage room to the left.These fire collars prevent the spread of fire to the adjacent areas for o minimum of 45 minutes. The garage walls-where framed-and the ceiling ore clad with 5/8" sheetrock. I am attaching photos showing the steel door and fire collars.
